Almost all the clothes in ethnographic museums are decorated with embroideries depicting the Kolovrat. He was on household utensils, toys, walls of houses, in mosaic floor and weapons. The swastika is located in the very middle of the 250 ruble denominations issued under Tsar Nicholas II and under the Provisional Government. This sign was marked by the armband of the Red Army men. Only after the swastika, or rather one of its options, the Nazis took, it was prohibited.

The symbol Kolovrat has many varieties, but always recognizable. This is a circle with rays embedded into it with bent ends. Most often they are 4, 6 or 8. The rays can be bent to the right or left. It is believed that such symbols have opposite meanings. Right-sided Kolovrat means vital energy and male power, and the left-sided symbolizes an appeal to the world of ancestors and gods and female energy. But in ancient times both symbols were revered.
The whole life of our ancestors was subordinated to the rhythms of the movement of the sun, the change of seasons. All the holidays were full of sunshine. Therefore, the symbol Kolovrat was used so widely. He protected from the evil eye, diseases and misfortunes, gave strength and wisdom. This sign was reminiscent of the covenants of the gods and served as a symbol of eternal movement and renewal of life.
