The multi-part film "The Son of the Father of Nations": actors and the plot

In 2013, after a year and a half of trials, filming and editing, the screens produced the joint work of the masters of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine - the film "The Son of the Father of Nations." This series was another attempt to look into the history and tell about the life of Joseph Stalin. This time the director and producers of the picture decided to cover the unknown side of the leader's life, to tell about his son Vasily.

The screenwriter of the film was an outstanding playwright from Ukraine - Eduard Yakovlevich Volodarsky. Out of his pen came more than eighty scenarios, later became full-length films. This time, Eduard Volodarsky decided to touch upon a historical theme, which in many respects claims to be a documentary work.

Directed by the paintings were Sergei Ginzburg and Sergei Shcherbin. Ginzburg repeatedly filmed the series about the life of interesting personalities from the past. In his piggy bank there are works about Joseph Stalin. The film "The Son of the Father of Nations", the actors for whom passed a lengthy casting, claimed the title of the historical series.

The producer of the film was the creative tandem of Anatoly Chizhov and Sergei Kulikov.

Plot

The film "The Son of the Father of Nations" tells the viewer a "reliable" story about the tragic fate of Vasily, the beloved offshoot of Joseph Stalin. The life of a young and very talented guy was full of sharp turns of fate. Fearless pilot from God, a fan of hockey and football, Vasiliy was distinguished by unrestrained temper and craving for alcoholic beverages.

At the age of 25 he was a Lieutenant-General, and he was a universal favorite. After the death of his father, Vasily Stalin was imprisoned for eight years for "anti-Soviet propaganda." The former spoiler of fate after the rehabilitation lived in Kazan and died in complete poverty under unclear circumstances.

Gela Meskhi - Vasily Stalin

Casting for the role of Basil Stalin, according to the young star of the series Gela Meskhi, was very long and painful. About a month the director tried a lot of actors, and all were not enough. After sleepless nights and considerable overstrain, Gela Meskhi came for another audition at the request of the director. As the actor himself admits, he was so morally exhausted that he simply let go of the situation and played a passage with Messing in one breath, with a thought in his head: "Be that which will be." The episode turned out dramatic - Gela was hysterical, laughed, cried, screamed, threw furniture. After this trial, Sergei Ginzburg saw in Gel those features that were necessary in order to reincarnate as the son of the Leader of the Peoples.

The painting "The Son of the Father of Nations," whose actors were to fully get used to their characters, was a serious test for Gela. During the filming, he had a kind of nervous breakdown, the actor recovered by 10 kg.

Anatoly Dzivaev - "Stalin" of the Russian cinema

Anatoly Dzivayev, Honored Artist of Russian Cinematography, was invited to the role of "father of nations". Due to his appearance and oriental temperament, the actor constantly plays colorful men. Surprisingly, the image of Stalin follows the artist throughout his career. Of the thirty paintings in the filmography of the actor in five of them he was reincarnated as Joseph Vissarionovich.

In one of the interviews, the actor admitted that the image of Stalin today is viewed solely from the standpoint of an ordinary person who lived, loved, was mistaken, worried about the fate of his children.

A brilliant galaxy of future movie stars gathered the film "The Son of the Father of Nations." Actors, despite their youth, turned out to be real professionals, skillfully paid the images on the screen. Casting for the role of Vasily Stalin's wives, and he, as historians claim, had four official and uncountable number of mistresses, lasted several weeks. The director even chuckled at Gela, saying that on these tests he kissed all the young actresses of Moscow.

As a result, after numerous tests for the role of the first wife, Ginsburg approved Marina Vorozhishchev. The image of the second wife, Catherine Tymoshenko, embodied on the screens of Maria Andreeva. The third official companion of Vasily, athlete Kapitolina Vasiliev, was played by Mariana Spivak. The authors of the series decided not to mention the fourth companion of Stalin's son.

Actors of the second plan

The backbone of the picture on the director's plan was to make up little-known personalities. The only exception was Nadezhda Mikhalkova, who played in the TV series Svetlana Alliluyeva. As the actress tells, her growth is much higher than that of Sister Vasily. On the set, Hope never appeared on his heels.

In the film "The Son of the Father of Nations," whose director has scrupulously approached the choice of actors, even more mature and recognizable figures of the film were shot: Sergei Gazayev, Yuri Maslak, Yevgeny Knyazev, Yury Lakhin, Ilya Ermolov, Alexander Nikolsky and others.

Reviews of viewers and critics

The film "Son of the Father of Nations," whose actors believably portrayed their characters, received mixed reviews among viewers and film critics. From an artistic point of view, the picture is put competently, the characters are thought out, the main storyline of the picture is revealed. This was noticed by the audience, the rating of views and positive reviews of the film is high.

From the point of view of historical certainty, there are a lot of gaps that the director and script writer did not want to make up and finalize.

Regarding the actor's work of the main character, he deserved recognition not only of the audience, but also of the director. Sergei Ginzburg invited Gela to appear in his next film. By the way, Alexander Burdonsky - the only son of Vasily Stalin, who ironically responds about the many attempts of directors and actors to portray their relatives, the work of the young Meskhi responded favorably. He admitted that the main character, both in appearance and temperament, was like his father.

Despite the criticism and mixed reviews of the audience, the multi-series television film about Vasily Stalin became one of the most successful films about the life of this interesting person.
