Russian televiewers are familiar with the image of a four-legged friend who helps in dangerous situations and is ready to give his life for the sake of his master. In 1964 on the screens there was a feature film "To me, Mukhtar!". For a long time he was very popular. In 1994, the Austrian-German TV series "Commissioner Rex" was released. He was about the adventures of a German shepherd serving in the police. After 10 years in Russia began to shoot a similar series. After the release of the first 40 episodes, the sequel, "Return of Mukhtar-2" was withdrawn. Actors, liked by many viewers in the first season, returned to the screens.

"Return of Mukhtar" - a TV series popular with many Russian TV viewers about the adventures of operatives, investigators, forensic experts and fearless dogs. The first season was broadcast in 2004 on the TV channels "Russia-1" and "NTV". It included 40 series.
