The most beautiful cities in Cuba

The Island of Freedom is one of the most favorite destinations for tourists. Historical monuments, museums, natural and architectural attractions, hot sun, delicious food and hospitable locals - that's what the cities of Cuba are famous for. This list can continue and continue. Let there be not so many large cities on the island, but each of them is good in its own way.

The capital of the Island of Liberty

Havana is Cuba's largest city and its capital. It has existed for about five hundred years. The architecture here is amazing. The buildings from the time of the rule of colonial Spain coexist with modern skyscrapers, office centers, fashionable restaurants and hotels. It is worth to look at the local historical monuments - the remains of castles of Castillo del Morro and Castillo de la Punta. Havana has a powerful coastline. And the area of the city as a whole slightly exceeds 200 square kilometers. Cities of Cuba (Havana is no exception) are famous for their boulevards. In the capital, you should certainly stroll along the Prado boulevard, paved with colorful stones. Here there are local history museum, the Capitol, the Academy of Sciences.

Santiago

The resort cities of Cuba are spread all over the island. The second largest after Havana is the city of Santiago, which, perhaps, is the most famous. It can rightly be considered a city of museums. And every July there is held the richest carnival in the Caribbean islands - the festival of Caribbean culture. There is in Santiago and its tourist center - Grand Pietro. This is a picturesque place with all the amenities for tourists, probably, that's why it is the most popular.

Despite the fact that the cities of Cuba look quite modern, local people honor the traditions and sometimes behave too directly for the metropolis. They easily sit on the steps of houses, smoke, sing songs. In general, they are quite hospitable. But at first they can be alarmed by their noisiness and talkativeness, which is explained by the temperament of the Cubans.

Trinidad is a city-museum

You should definitely visit Trinidad. Like many other cities in Cuba, it was founded in the early 16th century. But it is the oldest architecture. Catholic churches, palaces, roads paved with cobblestones - this whole city is saturated with historicism, it attracts tourists. On every meter of this relatively small town you can make a stunning photo. There is a museum of Romanticism, an archaeological museum and even a museum to combat banditry!

Green Holguin

The city is famous for the fact that it was at this place that the expedition of Christopher Columbus landed for the first time . Olgin is stunningly beautiful due to the large number of bays and creeks, rivers and canals. The town is small, and it literally drowns in the growth of tropical plants. There is a historical museum and the majestic Cathedral of San Isidoro.

Despite the relatively small size of the island, the cities of Cuba are full of sights. And in any of them you can spend a wonderful vacation, while you definitely will not be bored.
