The Miskhorsky Park is an exotic pearl of the Crimea

The Miskhorsky Park is a unique natural place on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula. It is a beautiful embodiment of landscape architecture, where glades are replaced by dense thickets, in which old manors, resembling castles from favorite fairy tales, are hiding.

The park is located near the city of Big Yalta. The total area is 21.3 hectares.

History of the creation and structure of the park

The palm grove of Miskhor Park was planted by Prince Naryshkin himself. This is a real tropical corner, one of the most famous on the peninsula.

The Miskhorsky Park was created thanks to the joint works of the masters of park projects, botanists K. Kebach and F. Marco. They managed to harmoniously unite untouched virgin nature and architectural masterpieces of the 18th century. Part of the park became the villas and estates of the princes Golitsyn, Witt, Meshchersky, Dulber. Today they are turned into sanatoriums, boarding houses, hotels.

The park lies along the sea coast and is fascinated by the avenue of pyramidal cypresses and centuries-old cedars, and near the fountain "Lily" a unique Babylonian willow grows .

Landscape

The Miskhorsky Park is located on a flat terrain, but there are also stone ledges in it, which are equipped with cozy gazebos and observation platforms. Thanks to the rocky islets the park acquires a peculiar mountain color.

Fountains and statues

The park is generously decorated with unique sculptural groups. Their subjects are ancient Crimean tales and legends. Near the coast, a mermaid with a toddler on his hands rests on a stone boulder. It is a symbol of the Crimean girls kidnapped by the Turks and sold into slavery.

The sculptural composition "The Girl of Arza and Ali Baba" tells how the earth mourns for poor captives. It's not just a sculpture, it's a kind of fountain, only it does not sparkle upwards with streams, but quietly cries with scant drops, as if to signify that the life-giving moisture has dried up after the captivity of the girl.

Mishor Park (Crimea) is proud of modern infrastructure. It includes a spacious dance floor, color music fountain, a summer cinema. In small cozy cafes you can have a snack, and in numerous shopping tents you can buy soft drinks, ice cream and souvenirs with the symbols of the park and the whole Crimea.
