The ghost stations of the Moscow metro. List, description

The underground metro of the Russian capital is very beautiful, the government spared no time and money to erect it. Some stations are like wonderful palaces under the earth. For example:

  • "Komsomolskaya".
  • "Revolution square".
  • «The Kiev Ring».
  • Mayakovskaya.

They are decorated with stones, sculptures and paintings. And there are mysterious ghost stations of the Moscow Metro, which have not functioned for a long time and frighten city residents with their mystery. Almost every one of them is already legendary.

What is the ghost station of the Moscow Metro?

Moscow is a big city, which is developing very rapidly, and new underground stations are constantly being constructed in this connection. The unfinished, closed for some reason, inaccessible to the passengers and not yet started up station - "the ghost of the Moscow metro." They are so called, because trains, passing them, slow down, and passengers can see from the window empty halls that look like ghosts.

If these are unfinished stops, they work on them, as a rule, at night, when the metro is closed for use.

Some stops were taken out of action over time, because of the construction of new halls, or they were originally built as temporary ones.

For example, since 1950, the temporary halls of the Moscow metro were built in the USSR. They were needed so that passengers could drive from these stops before they built and put into operation new - permanent rooms. After they were closed, such ghost stations of the Moscow metro began to be adapted to the economic needs of enterprises, while leaving some details for registration.

"Soviet"

For example, this can be attributed to this and many other ghost stations of the Moscow Metro.

"Soviet" plans were to enter the points of the Gorky radius when it was designed in 1930, but after a while it turned out that the slope of the tunnels would not allow the construction of a full-fledged station in this place and it was closed.

The stop was to be located directly under Tverskaya Square. By personal decree of Stalin, it was converted to the headquarters of the GO. At the moment, there are shelters of state municipal institutions located above the stretch.

«Trinity-Lykovo»

It is considered a hall with great prospects, because it is located on the Arbat-Pokrovskaya metro line of the capital. The station is located on the current road between Krylatskoye and Strogino. This stop represents only half of the distance with a small platform and service rooms. Used at the moment to transport employees. Although it is listed on some lists as a perspective building, no projects are yet planned to open it.

"Pervomaiskaya"

This is the first temporary station in the Soviet Union, which was opened in 1954 and was operated for seven years, until they opened a permanent station "Izmailovo." The decoration of the temporary station "Pervomayskaya" is distinguished by the splendor typical of those times. Particularly beautiful is the lobby, which is located on the surface and makes the station a real station. Inside the hall was decorated with a beautiful bas-relief and original chandeliers, which have now disappeared. Now there are several shops of the repair depot "Izmailovo" and the assembly hall of the enterprise.

«Kaluga»

This hall opened in 1964 and was the last stop of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line. The decoration of the rooms reflects the Khrushchev era. The depot operated for ten years, after which it was converted into a warehouse, as a new similar stop was opened next door. Since then, "Kaluga" has replenished the station-ghosts of the Moscow Metro. She kept the platform, and in the lobby rest the drivers of the new depot.

«Volokolamskaya»

This stop was erected at the time when they planned to build a new residential area next to it. However, everything turned out differently, and the construction was suspended.
This is another frozen building, which is located on the Taganskaya line of the underground road and replenishes the ghost stations of the Moscow metro - Volokolamskaya. It looks like a standard platform with concrete columns. There are no decorative ornaments on the walls and chandeliers, moreover, there are no outlets. Although there is information about the presence of one exit, which was closed, but confirmation of this were not found. On the same architectural project, a station was built in the city of Tashkent.

Since there were no lights at the station, the trains passed through it, without reducing the speed of movement.

Since 2008, the building was given to a construction company stadium, which found it an attractive place.

At the moment, the station "Spartacus" is open here, and the stadium of the eponymous club is located nearby.

From "Kalininskaya" to "Kiev"

After in 1953 a section was opened, which is called the Arbat radius, the parallel distillation from Kalininskaya to Kievskaya was closed. There were equipped warehouses for spare parts and wagons.

And such premises as "Smolenskaya" and "Arbatskaya" were used for exhibitions. For quite some time people continued to please the people with similar measures of the ghost station of the Moscow metro. Photos from exhibitions are amazing with beauty. But "Smolenskaya" closed after the third event, and the "Arbat" went until the very resumption of this line. Now all these stops are part of the Filev branch.

Other ghosts of the metro

On the "Leninsky Prospect", in the middle, you can see an additional transition, which is closed. He leads to the "Gagarin Square" - another closed underground platform.

In 1980, when the station was built "Novoyasenevskaya", one of the exits was to lead directly to the large zoo. Now, only an iron picture with animals near that entrance can remind of this.

In 1996, unexpectedly appeared on the scheme station "Fiztech", which was considered under construction. This surprised many Muscovites who knew that such a stop does not exist, because it was located behind Altufevo, and in this direction the work was not conducted. It turned out that this is just a joke of one student who printed his own version on the computer and pasted in the cars of underground trains.

In addition, there are stations in the capital not with two, but with three ways. This is Polezhaevskaya and Partizanskaya. Once, perhaps, next to them were planned large projects of stadiums and other similar facilities, the third way was to increase the capacity of the stations. Now, the useful ways are often filmed in the movies.

"Krasnye Vorota" is another transfer that can be included in the ghost station of the Moscow metro, it existed back in the times of the Great Patriotic War. The "Red Gate" housed a military headquarters in those years, trains did not stop, and the platform was separated by a high plywood enclosure.

Sometimes you can hear that somewhere there are new unfinished projects that replenish the ghost stations of the Moscow metro, but the information is not always confirmed.

City's legends

The most interesting and mysterious thing is not that the stations exist, but the legends that go about these places.

One of the most mysterious stories is one about the Perovo station. The lobby is decorated with frescoes with a lion, sun, birds and a unicorn. Since all this is considered certain symbols from ancient myths, in this connection there are opinions that the bas-relief is connected with the Slavic Gods. Others tie the head of a lion to the head of the Bible, which refers to the end of the world. Employees say that during the decoration the sculptor suddenly fell ill, and urgently called another. He coped with the work very quickly and qualitatively, and in the light of emergency circumstances no one bothered to see what exactly is depicted on the sculptures. The master himself disappeared without a trace, and there are no data on him.

Another horror story about the underworld - the legend of the ghost train, which once a month passes through the Ring. He stops at all underground stops, but the door opens very rarely. It is believed that if a person enters the car, then no one else will find him. The train itself is an old construction, a machinist in a form characteristic of the pre-war time, and several passengers, also dressed in antique gray clothes. It is believed that this train is the soul of the deceased during the work on the underground roads. The prisoners were brought to them, so they did not stand on ceremony and could be thrown into the mine and walled into the wall for the slightest fault.
