The drug "Seretid". Instructions

The "Seretide" peptide (inhaler) is a combined remedy. The composition of the medication includes: fluticasone propionate and salmeterol. Components have different mechanisms of action.

Salmeterol is able to prevent bronchospasm. Fluticasone propionate prevents the development of exacerbation, improves lung activity.

The drug "Seretid" can become a drug alternative for patients receiving both an inhaled GCS and a beta 2-adrenergic agonist.

Salmeterol has pharmacological properties that provide protection against histocompatible bronchoconstriction. The component promotes the development of a longer bronchodilation (not less than twelve hours) than beta 2-adrenergic agonists not prolonged (short). For ten to twenty minutes after taking the beginning of the bronchodilator effect.

Fluticasone propionate is a glucocorticosteroid for topical application. The introduction of recommended dosages has a pronounced anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory property. The component contributes to the relief of clinical manifestations, a decrease in the frequency of development of exacerbations, accompanied by obstruction in the airways.

Long-term use of inhalation propionate fluticasone at the maximum recommended dosages is allowed only if the daily production of hormones in the adrenal cortex is within normal limits, both in children and adults.

The drug is prescribed for basic therapy of pathologies accompanied by obstructive phenomena in the respiratory tract of reversible nature (including bronchial asthma in adults and children) in cases of expediency of using combined treatment, including a drug from a number of inhaled GCS (glucocorticosteroids) and bronchodilator in patients:

- receiving bronchodilators on a regular basis and requiring glucocorticosteroids (inhalants);

- at which on a background of treatment SCS symptoms of illness are saved;

- receiving effective doses of (sustained) beta2-adrenoreceptor agonists for prolonged exposure and inhaled GCS.

The drug is also recommended as a supportive treatment for COPD.

The medicine "Seretid". Instructions for use.

The drug is designed only for inhalation.

In order to obtain the optimal therapeutic effect, the "Seretide" agent recommends the use regularly, even in the absence of clinical signs of COPD and bronchial asthma.

Only the attending physician can determine the dosage and the duration of treatment with the drug "Seretide". The instruction recommends the prescription of such a dosage form of the preparation, in which the amount of fluconazole propionate corresponds to the severity of the pathology.

For patients of advanced age and with violations of the liver or kidneys, it is not necessary to lower the dosage to the minimum effective.

Before using the inhaler for the first time or after a long break (from a week or longer), remove the cap from the mouthpiece, shake the device and release the spray of aerosol into the air.

1. To perform inhalation, it is necessary to place the device in a position upside down.
2. Having made a deep exhalation, put the mouthpiece in the mouth, wrapping the lips.
3. Starting the inhalation, press on top of the inhaler until the aerosol exits, while continuing to inhale.
4. Holding their breath, they remove the mouthpiece from the mouth.
5. The second dose is given after thirty seconds.

"Seretid" instruction does not recommend appointing patients under four years of age, with hypersensitivity.

The use of the drug during lactation and during the period of gestation is carried out on the recommendation and under the supervision of the doctor.
