Drug "Fromilid" has a bactericidal, bacteriostatic, antibacterial property. The active substance is clarithromycin. The tablet of the drug "Formylid 500" contains five hundred milligrams of the active substance.

The medication is prescribed for inflammatory, infectious diseases, provoked by microbes that show sensitivity to clarithromycin.

The instruction refers to indications for the use of the "Framilide" agent for infectious lesions in the upper parts of the respiratory system, in particular, otitis (acute middle), recurrent sinusitis (acute and chronic course), tonsillopharyngitis. The drug "Fromilid" recommends the instruction for infectious lesions on the skin, in soft tissues, in the lower parts of the respiratory system (pneumonia, including atypical, chronic bronchitis in the acute phase, and also with acute bacterial bronchitis). The medicine is prescribed for diseases caused by mycobacteria. As an aid to the drug "Fromelid" the instruction recommends the use of Helicobacter pylori for the elimination of bacteria of the genus with the ulcer in the stomach and duodenum.

The drug is not prescribed for hepatitis (including in the history of the disease), hypersensitivity, porphyria, liver failure in the severe stage, in the first trimester to pregnant women, during lactation. The drug "Fromilid" does not recommend the use of the drug at the same time as Astemizol, Pimozide, Cisapride, Terfenadin, and do not prescribe a medicine in the form of granules to children up to six months, in the form of tablets, up to twelve years.

With care take the drug "Fromilide" during the second and third trimester, with moderate or severe deficiency of the kidneys and liver.

The drug can cause drowsiness, numbness, vertigo, psychosis, headache, convulsions. There are also dizziness, nightmarish dreams, a sense of fear, confusion, insomnia, disorientation, depersonalization.

Taking the drug "Fromilid" can provoke thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, ringing in the ears, shortness of breath, short hearing loss (symptoms usually pass after withdrawal of the drug).

Among undesirable manifestations should also be allocated myalgia, arthralgia, ventricular tachycardia. The drug can cause kidney failure, interstitial nephritis and other disorders in the genitourinary system.

Allergic reactions are considered to be common when taking "Fromilide". These include angioedema, facial edema , hives, Lyell's syndrome, skin itching, anaphylactic shock.

The drug "Fromelide" is prescribed inside. Patients with twelve years are recommended twice a day for 250 milligrams.

In acute sinusitis, infections of severe course are prescribed twice a day for five hundred milligrams.

Typically, the duration of therapy with the drug "Fromilid" - 10 days on average. However, according to the condition, the duration of treatment can vary from seven to fourteen days.
