Straight-through silencers contribute to increasing the engine's power of auto. This is due to the fact that, thanks to their design, the exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold of the engine come out with a lower resistance capability, formed on the regular muffler. It is worthwhile to disassemble the car silencer device and its specifics.

In fact, the engine spends less power when discharging gases to overcome pressure. And unencumbered work becomes an additional power going to the movement of the vehicle. When using a straight-through silencer, the escaping gases from the outlet have a lower resistance. After the exhaust manifold, the minimization of pressure is ensured by the intake of air by a greater supply of oxygen.

At the heart of its design, the muffler has a straight pipe passing through the outer casing. A pipe running inside the casing has holes on its surface. It turns out, in fact, it is a perforated surface.

Getting into the straight pipe, the exhaust gases can expand due to perforation, of course, within the volume of the casing. Thus, the pressure of the resistance is lowered, and the silencer assembly helps the engine to easily expel the exhaust gases and suck in air.

But if you do not take any action, the outer casing will begin to resonate due to the movement of the gas and the machine will start to sound quite loud. To reduce noise, the silencer assembly contains a noise-absorbing packing. It is made of noise-absorbing synthetic material. An imperative property of this material is immunity to elevated temperatures. When heated, the sound-absorbing packing does not emit harmful substances and does not melt under the influence of high temperatures.

In addition, a special composition is applied to the inner surfaces of the outer casing for noise absorption, preventing the casing from resonating and thereby increasing the noise of the engine running.

There is such a device of a silencer in which an inner tube is cut. Its parts are on the same axis, and there is a short distance between them. Such mufflers will be quite noisy, despite the use of sound-absorbing stuffing.

The quietest is a muffler in which the outer casing is divided into separate segments, each of which is filled with soundproofing material. In the outer casing, the partitions between the compartments have a perforated structure and are not hermetically sealed. But what's important is that the waste gases move in a straight line, without making any turns that affect the pressure inside the system.

The silencer differs depending on the particular model of the car for which it was designed. The main differences are in different sizes of the exhaust manifold, depending on the dimensions of the machine. Some device of the car silencer allows to increase the power not in the whole range of the engine. This must be taken into account when selecting it.
