Synchronization is always up-to-date information, for whatever computer you go

Surely you have repeatedly met with the concept of "backup" and at least some know what it is. If to put it in simple words, then this is nothing more than duplicating files from one folder to another. Usually it is used to secure important documents, photos, videos and other information from unforeseen system failures, as a result of which files can be deleted or lost. In this case, they can easily be restored from a backup.

Often this concept is confused with another, very similar, but at the same time having significant differences. It is called "synchronization". This is a process whereby two or more synchronized folders have the same set of absolutely identical files. That is, several versions of data are stored simultaneously in several places (folders), including on different computers. But that is not all. In the event that you make any changes to this kind of file, add or delete it, then similar actions will be automatically performed in other files / folders.

Why do I need synchronization? This is convenient, first of all, when you have two working computers or a laptop and a PC, and you alternately use either one or the other. Then all the adjustments that you make to the synchronized files on one of them will be reflected on the other. Therefore, you can always continue the work that you started, no matter what computer you decide to use, without having to copy and transfer information every time using removable media. You will always have files with a "fresh" date of change.

Typically, a special program is used to synchronize computers, although some prefer to implement this process on their own (which is less convenient). We propose to take a closer look at a good free utility that allows you to carry out both one-sided and two-sided copying of files. It's called Handy Backup. The data can be synchronized between two computers, a PC and laptop, a remote FTP server, and a mobile phone. You can also set the interval according to which this process will be performed (15 minutes, an hour or even a day). Thus, you will always have up-to-date information, whatever device you use.

By the way, Windows synchronization can be done through the "Synchronization Center". You can find it in standard programs through the "Start" menu. First, you need to connect a device to the computer with which you will synchronize. It can be a removable medium or a laptop, a phone, a PDA, connected via a cable.

After setting up a new connection and selecting the appropriate parameters, as well as the schedule, you can proceed directly to the process itself. To do this, click the "Synchronization" button on the toolbar . This is a fairly simple and quick operation that does not require any special knowledge of the operation of computer systems. It is desirable to master it, as well as backup, if you often work with documents and want to always have an up-to-date, protected from system failures information, and even more so regularly use more than one computer.
