Symptom of malfunction of the mass air flow sensor and its diagnostics

The mass air flow sensor (abbreviated as DWR) is an indispensable device that determines and regulates the supply of the right amount of air to the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. Its design necessarily includes a thermo-anemometer, the main function of which is to measure the costs of the supplied gases. The air flow sensor VAZ-2114 and 2115 is located near the air filter. But regardless of its location, it breaks down the same way as all modern models of the Volga plant. In this article we will look at the symptom of a malfunction of the mass air flow sensor, and also find out how to check its current state without calling specialists.

How can you determine that the DMRV is to be replaced or repaired?

In fact, there are very, very many symptoms of the breakdown of this part. The main symptom of the malfunction of the mass air flow sensor is the appearance on the dashboard of the Check Engine lamp (literally - "Check the motor"). Also about the malfunction of the DMRV may indicate increased fuel consumption. Another symptom is the poor start of the engine. This problem can occur even when the battery charge level is equal to 80-99%, and in the street it costs 30 о С of heat. The strange move of the car can also signal a breakdown.

The main symptom of a malfunction of the mass air flow sensor may be a bad acceleration dynamics and "failures" in motion, that is, the car brakes abruptly, and then it accelerates abruptly. And the last symptom is the poor performance of the engine. If the motor constantly works with interruptions, and its turns constantly "jump", it is a sign of malfunction of the gauge of the mass expense of air.

Determine the current state of the part

Since you can check the air flow sensor without asking for service, this manual will be useful for all motorists. So, in order to check the DMRV, you need to unscrew the clamp that secures the corrugation of the air intake at the exit.

This is done using a curved screwdriver. After removing the yoke, carefully remove the pipe and look at its surface. Ideally, its interior should be dry and clean. By the way, if the air filter you will not change in time, it can adversely affect the condition of the air flow sensor and contaminate it with small particles of road dust. Next, using a carabiner wrench on 10, unscrew the fastening elements of the DMRV and look at its condition. When the rubber seal ring is not placed in its place at the entrance edge, it must be immediately corrected or replaced. Otherwise, the sensor stops functioning properly from dust. If, on disassembling in the design of the diagnosed part, you find oil traces, this indicates a clogged oil separator or an increased concentration of lubricant in the motor. In the first case, the system should be cleaned, and in the second, drain excess oil.

Remember, no matter what signs and malfunctions are present, it is by no means necessary to neglect the replacement or repair of the sensor, otherwise the increased fuel consumption will be guaranteed to you.
