SVEN HA-1410T: review, comparison with competitors and customer reviews

Modern powerful 5.1 speaker systems, working directly with a computer or DVD player, are becoming more popular. Lovers of quality sound is becoming more and more, but not every of them has money for an advanced acoustic system, so many manufacturers began to create sets of speakers at a lower price than the classical high-end versions. One of the leaders in the low price segment is the manufacturer of SVEN sound equipment. In this material, we will talk in more detail about the brand and its legendary acoustics 5.1 - SVEN HA-1410T.

Brand SVEN

Now the Scandinavian brand SVEN was created in 1991 in the territory of the USSR. As part of the conversion, the company developed and sold multimedia devices (portable acoustics and speakers) and various computer peripherals (headphones, keyboards, headsets). Throughout its history, the company has followed the only principle - to use the cheapest materials, to limit the functionality of the devices, but at the same time to use all efforts to achieve the high quality of the basic function of the device. Thus, the manufacturer managed to create a market filled with high-quality, and most importantly, inexpensive speakers and headphones. Next, go to the overview of SVEN HA-1410T, actually the most acoustic system.

What is active 5.1 acoustics?

To begin with it is necessary to be defined with that represents active acoustics 5.1. The number 5.1 means a complete set. The user receives a complete set of 5 columns (often referred to as "pyschalki" or "satellites") responsible for the upper and middle tones, and 1 subwoofer responsible for the depth of sound and bass. The subwoofer also acts as a kind of "hub" to which speakers are connected, as well as a media player or computer. The word "active" means that the system does not require a separate amplifier, the speakers are already equipped with built-in options.

Contents of delivery

Since the stereo system is far from being small, it comes in two boxes. In one of them you can find:

  • Active subwoofer.
  • Cables for connecting the elements of the system to each other (high-quality acoustic cables are used).
  • Remote control system.
  • Feet for the subwoofer.
  • The instruction from SVEN HA-1410T.

In the second box lie:

  • Rear speakers.
  • Frontal columns.
  • One central.

Appearance of the speaker system and accessories

The visual design of the speakers is impressive. They look really dignified. There are several options for color design, which can be selected for a certain room. Thanks to a minimalistic and strict look, they can easily fit into even the most refined interior. The material for the columns is a fiberboard, so-called MDF (translit). The thickness of the plate is 15 millimeters. In the inner part, a sintepon is laid, which affects the acoustic characteristics of the "satellites", which reduces the level of vibrations. To connect the cables, screw jacks with a small amount of gold deposition are used. To avoid confusion, the connectors are colored.

The subwoofer is made of the same materials. It looks pretty neat, without any outstanding elements. On the front panel there was a place for a compact display. It displays information about the content being reproduced and other useful information. Sockets for connecting the speakers and power are located on the back side. The subwoofer is supported by four metal spikes. This design contributes to the stability of the subwoofer, but it can damage the floor covering. The manufacturer thought about this and put rubber caps in the kit.

Remote control is not convenient. It can be seen that the slope was made in the direction of the accepted external design and conformity to the general style of the entire speaker system. It is very thin and light, but the number of options on it is limited. In fairness, it should be noted that the available settings will be enough for the absolute majority of users.

Speaker construction

Each SVEN Audio HA-1410T column has a bass reflex and a small plastic tube located at the rear of the case. Two-way speakers protected by Butterworth filter are used. Due to this filter, the amplitude-frequency response of the speakers remains smoother and almost disappears at the frequencies of the suppression band. The speakers are medium-frequency, their diffuser is made of polypropylene, and its suspension is made of rubber, which does not have high rigidity, which is good for sound. High-frequency elements have the form of a small dome and are made of silk. There is a powerful magnetic system with full screening. The whole mechanism has a fairly wide course. Another important detail is the level of acoustic resistance (this characteristic shows how many Ohms in SVEN HA-1410T). It is 6 ohms.

Subwoofer Construction

Among the design features of the subwoofer can be identified a large grille, which maintains a low temperature of the amplifiers. The diffuser is made of dense material of unusual shape with a large number of depressions, which favorably affects the level of resonance in the sound. In the lower panel a bass reflex and two wide pipes are displayed.

In general, the 5.1 acoustic SVEN HA-1410T is a truly "serious" device. It can be seen that the manufacturer with a mind approached the creation of the device, focusing on the maximum level of quality. The LM4731TA chip is used, on which a stereo amplifier with a large power reserve is installed. Of the disadvantages is to allocate a limit of 20 watts, after crossing which there are obvious distortions, hitting the sound quality. Nevertheless, for such a set of speakers, this power is usually enough with a vengeance, most importantly, do not overdo it.

Listening experience

The acoustic system perfectly copes with any music, no matter what genre you prefer. The sound is beautiful and powerful, thanks to the advanced speakers and characteristics of the SVEN HA-1410T in general. Even if you bring the power to full, you can hardly notice any serious changes in the sound. Distortions, of course, are, but they can be tolerated. Medium frequencies are impressive. Sound detailing and its saturation far beyond the price segment of the monitored acoustics, is heard a higher level, worthy of many Hi-Fi systems. High frequencies also give a lot of pleasure, since they do not spoil the impression typical for such systems by background whistling, wheezing and hissing. The bass in SVEN HA-1410T deserves a separate standing ovation. Regardless of the length of the deep bass, the system copes with it with a bang. The tough blasts of metalcore and the protracted "explosions" of hip-hop music sound great.

Of course, much depends on the location of the speakers in the room. The acoustic system is designed for installation in a room of about 30 square meters. With the correct placement of all elements, you can achieve an exciting presence effect. It is important that when moving from another set of speakers to the brainchild of SVEN, you can completely rediscover the compositions that you have listened to for years. Everything that seemed habitual and worn out before, appears in new colors and again surprises.

It is difficult to single out any shortcomings, since even the most common problem with the excess of own noise in the columns is missing. A small amount of noise can be noticed only if the volume is output to the maximum, and even then it will be necessary to cling to the column to notice it. Nevertheless, the system is very sensitive to interference, so when you turn on the other electronics you can hear crackling and noise in the speakers. Again, these clicks are hardly noticeable.

Measurements

The data of the analysis of amplitude-frequency characteristic (further AFC) pleases. To begin with, it is worthwhile to clarify that when data were collected at a frequency of 130-500 Hz, the Hertzs were deliberately buried. The characteristics of the acoustic system were recorded with "zero" settings. The fact is that the subwoofer has a wide working band, the upper threshold of which is 500 hertz. Therefore, the data were filmed in this way, for the combination of a subwoofer and "satellites."

The data were taken in a straight line at an angle of 45 degrees. The frequency response turned out to be uniform, with a small deviation in the range of 6 decibels.

SVEN HA-1410T Reviews

Lovers to annoy neighbors with a heavy rock choir applaud to the acoustic system 5.1 SVEN HA-1410T. It sounds a little pathetic, but in fact it is. Most users have a positive opinion about the acoustics surveyed and are happy with it to this day. Many people called the device the best creation of SVEN for all the years of the company's existence, and it's hard not to agree with them. Pros singles out all the same. Quality materials, namely a thick layer of wood (analogues in this class are often made of plastic) and assembly. Magnetic shielding of the enclosure, which increases the level of safety. The visual design was also to the taste of all the owners of this miracle. A solid, impressive design is a success for fans of high-quality sound male. Of course, and the sound was appreciated. Fans of dancing in their apartment were satisfied, but neighbors really can have problems. An excellent solution SVEN HA-1410T turned out to be for those who use the 5.1 system as a home theater.

There were also drawbacks. First of all, this is the interference that occurs when you turn on and off the light or electronics in the house. Saving the settings to SVEN HA-1410T does not work. When the power is turned off, all settings are reset, which causes a lot of trouble. There were problems with management. Management is performed only from the console, and it is not on sale, that is, it is necessary to protect the single control as the apple of the eye.

Comparison with JetBalance JB-651CA

In comparison with the brainchild JetBalance, the product from SVEN clearly wins. The advantage is felt already at first. The main problem of JetBalance in comparison with SVEN is precisely the "emptiness" of the sound of high frequencies, which fade and obviously do not realize the full potential of the device. The quality of mid-range sound also leaves much to be desired. The range of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the "satellites" is highly distorted in the range of 90-22000 Hertz. Distortions in the frequency response of the subwoofer are even more pronounced.

Comparison with Edifier S 5.1

Here the product SVEN again holds the championship. Unfortunately, the Edifier system does not have such a wide range of high frequencies, which boasts SVEN HA-1410T, and this is the main cause of the defeat. Suffices and reliability of the timbre at medium frequencies, which many fans of high-quality sound will note and will be disappointed. The range of AFC of the front speakers varies within 6 decibels on a segment of 90-35000 Hertz. The distortion level of the speakers and the subwoofer is moderate.

Comparison with Genius SW-HF 5.1 5000

This Genius creation in principle sounds mediocre. This is understandable without any tests and comparisons, but if we talk about the specific advantages of SVEN, it is worth noting more detailed and rich sound throughout the range. Scandinavian brand in the battle with Genius does not leave the second no chance. The AFC of the front speakers is too uneven and fluctuates within 6 decibels in the range of 100-30000 Hertz. Distortions in sound are noticeable both at medium frequencies and at high frequencies.

Comparison with Microlab H-500

Here, the competition is almost a draw. SVEN has a slight advantage. This is especially noticeable in terms of low frequencies, which SVEN has more. You can also note a more detailed sound and natural timbre, but these details are not so conspicuous. The frequency response is uneven, with an average discrepancy of plus or minus 7 decibels in the range of 100-40000 Hertz. The distortion level of the front speakers and the subwoofer is moderate.

Results

Unequivocally, we can say that the work done in SVEN deserves respect. For a modest price to offer users an acoustic system of this level can not everyone. The surveyed acoustics 5.1 definitely worked out. High power, detailed sound, natural sound at all frequencies and a subwoofer will not leave anyone indifferent.

Pros:

  • Excellent visual design.
  • High power.
  • Quality sound.
  • Acoustic cables included.
  • Low cost.

Minuses:

  • Large dimensions (requires a lot of space for accommodation and a lot of effort for transportation).
