Standard bath. Cast iron, steel baths: dimensions

Those who managed to live in the Soviet era, it is well known that it is a standard bath and how poor was the choice of the consumer of that period. Oddly enough, such models can be seen on sale to this day, as the interior of most apartments remains the same.

The standard bath is the capacity of the most simple design, which is designed for use by one person. To the majority of users the design of a standard bath can seem extremely inconvenient, especially in the event that you want to take a recumbent, maximally relaxed position. However, even today the realities of the interior of most of the city's apartments require the purchase of such models.

Dimensions

The volume of a standard bath will suit not every owner of modern suburban housing, which is not accustomed to squeezing into products made on the basis of the Soviet standard. Despite the fact that the parameters of modern standard baths differ slightly from each other, there are a number of characteristics that are inherent in this category of products:

  • The length of standard baths is from 150 to 180 cm;
  • Width - up to 80 cm;
  • Standard bath height - no more than 70 cm.

Orientation when choosing a bath of standard design should be on the area of the room in which it will be located, the need to fill the space with household appliances (such as a washing machine) or furniture.

In general, the only right choice is the choice, in which the bathroom can be conveniently placed in a reclining position, stretching the legs to the full length. This option, although it does not allow you to relax as much as possible, but gives the opportunity to immerse the lower half of the body in the water and have a good rest.

Baths made of cast iron

Cast iron is one of the most common bases for the production of bathtubs of standard design. However, due to the difficulties in processing the material, it is impossible to note the wide variety of individual parameters of cast iron baths.

Simple baths of cast iron can be conditionally divided into the following groups:

  1. Products of the most miniature, compact dimensions, specially designed for use in the closest apartments. With their main task, these bathtubs cope simply perfectly, leaving enough room to effectively fill the scarce space of the bathrooms. However, the convenient placement in a bathtub, the size of which is no more than 120 cm in length and 70 in width, is extremely problematic.
  2. The next type of conventional cast iron baths are products with dimensions of 130 to 70 cm. Such standards are the most common and popular among consumers who prefer the purchase of cast iron baths.
  3. Home baths eurostandard belong to the third category of cast iron products. They can differ in size: 140 by 70 or 150 by 70 cm. Despite the rather modest dimensions, such products are quite convenient in everyday use and look extremely attractive in bathrooms of non-standard sizes.

Acrylic bathtubs

In addition to conventional cast-iron baths, acrylic products that have rather wide standards are in demand today. The depth of the acrylic models assumes the presence of a more vertical angle of inclination, which somewhat increases their volume and length.

When choosing an acrylic bath, there are more opportunities to meet the needs of the consumer. A standard acrylic bath can have dimensions that range from 120 to 190 cm in length and from 70 to 170 cm in width.

Steel Baths

Among the common types of standard products, steel baths have the most democratic price. Therefore, in recent years, the bulk of consumers have stopped on this option.

The most standard steel baths of common standards have a weight that does not exceed thirty kilograms, with a steel sheet thickness of not more than three millimeters. A standard bath of steel can have a length of 150 to 180 cm, a width of 70 to 85 cm and a height of 65 cm. Of particular importance here is the standard width of the bath, which allows most users to feel comfortable using.

Recommendations for choosing standard size bathtubs

There are a number of recommendations that will help you choose the most convenient bath of standard sizes:

  • Stopping should be on models with the most comfortable dimensions, manufactured with the use of environmentally safe, resistant to mechanical damage bases;
  • Before proceeding with the purchase of a suitable option, it is worth consulting with a specialist, because the bath installation system must fully comply with the water supply system;
  • The bath must be completed with the necessary fittings;
  • Prefer products better than those whose bottom has an anti-slip coating ;
  • When buying it is worth once again to inspect the surface of the bath for the presence of chips, cracks, other damage;
  • Important is the conformity of the design of the product to the parameters and stylistics of the bathroom room;
  • It is recommended to buy products of well-known, reputable manufacturers, since such companies guarantee high quality of materials, reliability and durability of coating, accuracy of application of enamel.

Eventually

Making the final choice, it is necessary to find out how many liters in the bath are standard, determine the manufacturer, the material of manufacture, and also form representations about the dimensions available for installation.

Ideal option can be the purchase of a standard bath, the length of which closes as tightly as possible between the opposite walls. Allowable is a difference of a few centimeters. Naturally, this need does not apply to buyers who have a bathroom of a non-standard size and design. After all, in this case, the bath does not need to be installed between the walls.
