Signs of solar and heat stroke. Assistance to the victim

Some of us like to lie in the sun, others run to the shade as soon as possible, but no matter how we transfer the heat, no one is immune from overheating, which can occur as a result of a violation of heat exchange of the body. Signs of sun and heat stroke can manifest themselves at the most unexpected moment and in absolutely healthy people.

The sunstroke occurs only in the summer from exposure to direct sun rays on an unprotected head. Thermal can happen at any other time of the year, although most often it also occurs in hot weather. A particular danger is that a severe form of heat stroke is similar to an infarction or stroke.

How to distinguish the signs of sun and heat stroke from heart attacks? If a person is conscious, you can ask him about his pain. With a heart attack, he feels pain in the chest, which can give under the left shoulder blade or shoulder, can feel heart palpitations, a violation of the rhythm of the heart. In this case, lay or seat the patient in a shady place with fresh air and give a nitroglycerin pill. In stroke, incoherent speech may occur, loss of orientation in space, partial or complete paralysis of motion. Do not give any medication. Immediate call of ambulance is necessary in any case.

Signs of solar and heat stroke have the same clinical picture. Dizziness starts, sweating stops, the face turns red, the body burns or, conversely, covers the chills. The temperature rises to 40 degrees, which is accompanied by a headache. It all depends on the degree of resistance of the body. Some may experience nausea, frequent vomiting, lack of appetite, dizziness may go into hallucinations. With such symptoms, you should immediately provide first aid and go to the nearest medical institution.

About the signs of a solar and heat stroke say: "The head baked." This is not always correct. The second can occur from being in a hot, stuffy room. Sometimes it is caused by work associated with increased external temperature (bath, pottery, metallurgical shops), the prolonged wearing of dense synthetic clothing, sultry weather. Provoking factors may be overweight, alcohol consumption, certain medications, an agitated human condition, problems with the cardiovascular, endocrine and nervous systems, the occupation of heavy physical labor in hot weather.

The consequences of a heat stroke can be the most serious. Renal or hepatic insufficiency may develop, the nervous and genitourinary systems of the body may be damaged, blood coagulability may be violated. The patient may fall into a state of stupor or coma, which leads to a fatal outcome.

First aid is to use all available methods aimed at cooling the body. At home it can be a cold bath (18-20 degrees), a wet sheet, the imposition of ice on the head, axillary and inguinal areas of the body, rubbing alcohol. The patient should be given a lot of fluid. If you feel bad on the street, immediately find an air-conditioned room, loosen or unbutton clothes, call an ambulance.

Remember that it's not just overheating, it's a heat stroke, the consequences of which can lead to death.
