Sergey Rodionov was born on September 3, 1962. A typical Moscow boy from an average Soviet family. Sergei spent all his free time outdoors, playing football with his friends in the yard. Already in his childhood, the boy dreamed of this game, constantly persuading his parents to give him to the section. At some point, the pope could not stand the pressure of his son, and the search for a suitable football school began.

At first there was an attempt to get to the school "Locomotive", the benefit of the Rodionov family lived not far from Cherkizov place, where his base was located. Unfortunately, for the teenager his year was not typed. The same story was repeated in Sokolniki, in the school "Spartacus." Bombardier

By the recognition of Sergei himself, he attracted the role of the attacker from childhood. Already during the games in the yard, the boy tried to take a place on the field closer to the opponent's goal. Skills of domestic football helped the teenager find himself and at a more serious level. The first coach Rodionov, Nikolai Ivanovich Parshin, immediately identified the teenager in the attack. The tall, lean Sergei looked great on this place. The confidence of coach Rodionov justified in full, becoming the top scorer of the championship of Moscow in 1974. Already then the teenager was talked about as a possible talented football player.

Debut in Adult Football

Sergei's way from childhood to adult football was surprisingly short. From the school "Spartacus" athlete was invited to the team "Krasnaya Presnya", which, under the leadership of former Spartak players Sergei Salnikov and Anatoly Korshunov performed in the second league of the USSR Championship. Career Rodionov in "Krasnaya Presnya" was a record low. Going out at the end of the match for a substitute, for the 15 minutes allocated to him, Sergei Yuryevich Rodionov managed to impress on the stadium Nikolai Petrovich Starostin, the head of Moscow's Spartak, who was in the stands. And the next day Rodionov trained on the field in Tarasovka, along with the players of the main team.

Moscow "Spartacus"

Already next year he became a full-fledged player of the basic structure, having spent 30 games out of 34 played by Spartak in the USSR championship.

Rodionov played all four matches at that championship, having managed to score one goal to the gate of the Hungarian national team.

Trip to France

In the middle of the 1990 season in Moscow, "Spartacus" came a proposal to conclude a contract with the French club "Red Star". The French were interested in two players: Sergei Rodionov and Fyodor Cherenkov. One of the main conditions for the transition to a foreign club was an arrangement with a best friend, Fyodor Cherenkov: if you go somewhere, it's only together.
