Hibiscus room: proper care and peculiarities of growth

Many people, trying to create coziness in their own house, use as a main means houseplants. One such plant is hibiscus room, which is an excellent ionizer, humidifier and air purifier, and also enriches the room with oxygen.

Before you start growing hibiscus room, you need to remember that it is a fast-growing spreading shrubbery, so it should be planted in a large pot, and the place to grow should also be quite spacious. However, now there are several varieties that are characterized by slow growth.

As a rule, indoor flowers, hibiscus among which occupies a special place, are grown from green shoots, which can be obtained as a result of spring pruning. These shoots are then cut and transformed into cuttings with three leaves. If the leaves are too large, they need to be shortened to leave half the length. Thus, evaporation of moisture decreases. When the plant begins to take roots, its leaves may fall off. Do not be scared, because the stalk remains alive, and then new leaves will grow on it (after the appearance of the roots).

Root hibiscus room is easiest in the water. As soon as you notice the cuttings below, it can be placed in prepared soil, watered in sufficient quantity and created greenhouse conditions. It is possible to use as a greenhouse a plastic bag or a plastic bottle, in which it is necessary to pre-make ventilation holes. As soon as the first young leaves appear, the plant is ready to move from the hothouse conditions to ordinary ones.

In nature, there are many terms when the indoor plants begin to bloom. Hibiscus blossoms already in the year when the stalk was planted. As a rule, by four months the shoots are thrown out by buds from the top. Gradually the buds increase, and after about 10-12 days a double flower spreads, the diameter of which can reach 10 cm.

The period of life of one flower is 24 hours. After that he falls down, and then the next one is blown. As a rule, hibiscus indoor blossoms year round (if it grows on the south side). Otherwise, its flowering ends in late autumn.

Particular attention to hibiscus room requires in the period of preparation for flowering. The problem is that buds and inflorescences are popular with peach aphid. When you notice its appearance, it is necessary to treat the plant with any preparation that kills this pest. When a peach aphid appears in large quantities, you need to remove the buds and continue to remove them until the full recovery of the plant.

When the month of March comes, you need to start cultivating the plant. To do this, shorten long shoots so that there is a possibility of branching. If the plant contains only one shoot, it must be cut to the desired height.

In the spring, it is necessary to transplant the hibiscus room into a fresh substrate. While the plant is young, the procedure should be carried out annually, when it reaches the age of seven to nine years, it should be transplanted as necessary.

Hibiscus from the soil sucks out all the useful substances, so you can add to the substratum of the transplanted mullein in a small amount during transplantation. Feeding the plant should be carried out every two weeks with a special fertilizer intended for flowering crops.

In summer it is recommended to place a pot with hibiscus outdoors. Emma needs an abundance of sunlight, watering rainwater and fresh air, which are beneficial for the winter period. On average, the minimum temperature that is tolerated by the plant is 10-12 degrees above zero. If it is lower, the roots of the plant are supercooled, and it can die.
