Sayings about the family. And maybe, after all, proverbs?

Before disclose the theme of "sayings about the family," we mention the generic concept of "people's creativity." This cultural phenomenon does not have a certain historical framework. For his scientific designation, the English scientist William Toms introduced the term "folklore" in the middle of the nineteenth century, which later became generally accepted.

What is folklore?

Folklore - the concept of extremely broad and non-static, perhaps, therefore, there is no strict definition. It includes arts and crafts, folk epics, fairy tales, folk songs, folk theater plays, folk dances. Through folklore expressed national traditions, inherent in the people of moral values, the principles of the organization of human life itself. There are also small forms in it: chastushki, anecdotes, proverbs and sayings about the family, about work, about human values.

Proverbs and sayings as small forms of folklore. Their differences

Does the very phrase "family sayings" make sense, or is it more correct to say "proverbs about the family"? First, let's define the fundamental differences between related concepts: "proverb" and "proverb". The proverb does not imply the completeness of the judgment, which is the basis of the brevity and capacity of the proverb.

The proverb, as a judgment, is endowed with the people by an axiomatic force, that is, the thought contained in it, as they say, "is not subject to discussion". It carries the mission of teaching. At the same time, a proverb is not a thought, it is an image that is a characteristic and is replaced by one word. In addition, the saying is always an unfinished statement. There is no grammatical basis. For example, "bast does not knit." Therefore, the very expression of the "saying about the family" has no meaning in itself.

Speaking correctly, it's the proverbs that can talk about the family - short moralizing sentiments, which are a complete thought of the type: "Away well, but at home it's better."

Examples of sayings

However, in the family life, sayings are often used to emphasize certain aspects of conjugal relationships. For example: "advice and love," "endure, fall in love," "how many years, how many winters", "tongue without bones," "peas on the wall." Proverbs about the family, thus, are a function of not teaching, but a way to make family communication more vivid and original.

On the other hand, the teaching of children involves the development of imagery of thinking. Therefore, not only teachers in the school, but also parents in the family, it is advisable to use sayings. It is not a secret that this small form of folklore carries more national, national significance. Perhaps, therefore, the sayings about the family for children are so popular: "to beat the buckets", "like snow on the head", "easy on the spot".

conclusions

The proverb, unlike the proverb, is an extremely broad imaginative comparison. The properties of evaluation and nonclosure are inherent in it. Speaking of the proverb, mention its property aphoristic, instructive, closed. If we want to hear a summary of short moralizations about family life, then we should turn to proverbs. If you want our everyday communication in the family not to boil down to banal statement of moral values, but become brighter, has acquired a national flavor - use sayings.
