Approximately in the seventies of the last century lovers of good sound discovered the Japanese tape recorders, and for a long time these devices were symbols of quality, and at the same time high level of well-being of their owners. Then they were replaced by Malaysian and Chinese counterparts and flooded the market. In Russia, as in the rest of the world, we are already accustomed to the fact that almost all household appliances are produced in China. However, soon this situation can significantly change.

The main competitor is China

The main advantage of all Chinese consumer goods, from down jackets and sneakers to sophisticated and technological products, is the price. All the rest, except perhaps for some special exotic goods like spices and tea, often causes complaints from consumers. Quality sometimes limps, materials have a specific perfume, the lines creep, the rations fall off, the rivets drop out, well, and so on. Of course, Chinese products are different, and they are supplied to countries of the "first world" after more strict control than to us, especially when it comes to the products of well-known brands, but there are problems there too. And the fact that imported from China to the CIS countries has already passed a double, if not triple, filtration. First, the manufacturers themselves reduce the cost price by using the cheapest materials and labor. Secondly, buyers too often focus on price, rather than on consumer properties. And yet there are brave entrepreneurs who decide to manufacture some products directly in Russia. And most importantly, they get it.

Features of Chinese business

Interesting is the metamorphosis that happened with the Datakam car DVRs. At first, a company specializing in this market position ordered equipment in China under its own brand, as did many commercial structures in the nineties. The products were inexpensive, so they were in demand, but soon the competition grew, as there were a lot of smart ones. In addition to quality problems, other difficulties arose. Chinese businessmen are not the most indispensable people in the whole world, and although they basically honor the agreements, the terms sometimes fail. There are other nuances familiar to anyone who has dealt with entrepreneurs from China. It is not necessary to expect direct deception from them, basically they are law-abiding people, but they can easily exaggerate the possibilities of their enterprise by taking on a large order, which obviously can not be "pulled". But this is not the most sad thing.

Culture of production

To produce a quality board, expensive assembly lines are required. To make a complex technical system you need special equipment, and not everyone has money at the beginning of the journey. But not only in this case. In China, the entrepreneurial class has gone a long way in a couple of decades, almost from medieval poverty to unprecedented luxury. The profit in this ancient country with millennial culture became the main deity. Therefore, if it is possible to reduce costs even at the expense of quality, then questions do not even arise. Of course, this affects the final product. On the assembly often people are working illiterate, previously nothing but hoes, in the hands of not holding. They get little, try very hard, but goes bad. All this together is called a low production culture.

There was an attempt to establish production in Taiwan, but there was the same misfortune, and it consisted in a principled focus on the price, and not on the merits of the goods, the requirements for which have already increased in Russia. Thus a systemic "crisis of the south-eastern direction" arose.

Recent Russian cons

After the collapse of the USSR in Russia, debugged production facilities remained, specializing in the production of components and the assembly of complex equipment. At the same time, a significant part of them was "imprisoned" for defense needs, which presupposed a high qualification, almost without economic expediency. In this were the advantages and disadvantages of domestic radio plants. Household appliances workshops, which existed on most of them, made tape recorders, televisions, receivers, vacuum cleaners and other household equipment, and the general deficit ensured steady sales regardless of consumer properties. After the collapse of the socialist economic system, all these advantages were unclaimed, the market filled all the same Chinese consumer goods. But the production culture still remained high.

The last Chinese argument

"Gave up" the situation of rising consumption in China. In itself, the improvement of living conditions is a good thing, but it is inseparable from the increase in tariffs for labor, and consequently, production costs. In the PRC in just a few years, literally everything has risen in price, and at times. At the time of making a decision to transfer the production of autoregistrators to Moscow (last year), the minimum salary of the packer was $ 750. Seven years ago, the engineer received half as much. At the same time, other indicators did not rise to the European-American level. The production discipline and the quality of performance have remained Chinese.

Russian production

The decline in the official ruble / dollar exchange rate was not enough, which made it useless for the Chinese division of Datakam to remain meaningless, but also opened up entirely new export opportunities for the company. At present, the team of highly paid designers provides work to a small assembly shop, and the quality of products is checked by the department of OTK in the person of two of its employees. The sales system, which allows you to dispense with a special department, works only with large wholesalers, and even has its own online store. That, in fact, the whole structure, is simple and elegant. Work with trade networks, which was practiced earlier, did not justify itself because of constant problems with payment terms that reduce the volume of working capital. To its suppliers of components Datakam pays immediately, without any delays.

Guarantees

No, not only Chinese, but also Japanese and others, manufacturers do not provide the consumer with such warranty obligations as Datakam. The number of complaints about malfunctions decreased after the transfer of production to Russia five times and is only one percent (affects the production culture, however). To further reduce the recoverability of the goods, measures are taken at the technological level, so the voltage of the power supply is changed to 12 volts, since the previous five allowed to burn the controller when directly connected to a car battery (there were "craftsmen"). The failed boards change completely, repair them for a long time and to nothing. The Russian consumer basically did not enjoy the right to return the device within one month, although it was provided. If the thing is good, then it is enjoyed with pleasure.

Accessories

Virtually everything that is necessary to make a registrar can be manufactured in Russia, but the problem, oddly enough in our time, is a deficit. Most radio component manufactures are part of the military-industrial complex and are provided with orders "to the eye". If the electronics industry gets proper development (which is to be expected), then the structure of the release of parts will change peacefully, and so far the import of twelve-layer boards, microcircuits, processors and other components (and hundreds of them) has to be produced in Taiwan.
