"Ruslan and Lyudmila": a brief summary. "Ruslan and Lyudmila" - the poem of Alexander Pushkin

A quick overview of the content of any literary work is helped by a brief summary. "Ruslan and Lyudmila" is a poem by A.S. Pushkin. The paraphrase will help the reader understand the meaning of the work, introduce the plot, the protagonists, and, perhaps, will provoke interest in a detailed study of the original.

History of creation

They say that Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin was thinking about writing a similar work, while still studying at the Lyceum. But thoroughly he began to work on it later - in 1818-1820. Pushkin wanted to create a fabulous poetry in which there would be a "heroic spirit".

The poetic work was born simultaneously under the influence of Russian literary tales and creations of Voltaire, Ariosto. Names of some actors were appropriated after the release of "The History of the Russian State". It was there that Ratmir, Ragdai, Farlaf were. With them you will soon be introduced to a brief summary.

"Ruslan and Lyudmila" also has elements of a parody, after all, Alexander Sergeyevich loved occasionally to flash with well-marked epigrams, to include joking elements in his poetic creations. Critics have noticed that Pushkin kindly parodies some episodes of the ballad of Zhukovsky's "The Twelve Sleeping Maidens." But in the thirties the poet even regretted that he did this in "pleasing the mob," because he was well treated by Zhukovsky, who presented him with his portrait after the release of the poem and wrote that this defeated teacher gives it to the winner-pupil.

Dedication

Many fairy tales are loved by the people. Pushkin, "Ruslan and Lyudmila" - is no exception. Not everyone knows that the poem begins with lines in which the author says that he dedicates it to the beautiful girls. Then there are many well-known lines about the seashore, the green oak, the scientist's cat, the mermaid. After this, the work itself begins.

The First Song

The first chapter introduces the reader to a brief summary. Ruslan and Lyudmila loved each other. The girl was the daughter of the Kiev prince Vladimir. This is told in the song of the first, that's how the 6 chapters of A.S. Pushkin named so. The latter, respectively, is called "Song Six".

The author, using the beauty of the word, talks about a merry holiday on the occasion of the wedding of two lovers. Only three guests were not happy at this feast - Ratmir, Farlaf and Rogday. They are Ruslan's rivals, because they were also in love with a beautiful girl.

And now it's time for the newlyweds to remain alone. But suddenly there was a thunder, the lamp went out, all around it trembled, and Lyudmila disappeared.

Ruslan is saddened. And Vladimir ordered to find a daughter and promised to give her to his wife to the one who will bring the girl. Of course, three enemies Ruslan could not miss this opportunity and rushed to search, as well as the newly-born groom.

One day he meets an old man in a cave. He told him the story of his love, that he was ready to turn mountains for a certain Naina in his youth, but that she rejected the young man. Then he went away and studied spells for 40 years to make the girl fall in love with him. When the old man returned, he saw instead of the virgin a disgusting old woman, into whom Naina had turned over the years. And she finally blazed to him with feelings. However, the old Finn fled from her, and has since lived in seclusion in a cave. He said that Lyudmila was abducted by the terrible wizard Chernomor.

Canto the second

The brief content of Pushkin's poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila" came to the second chapter. From it the reader learns that Rogdai was belligerent, he rode, sending curses to Ruslan. Suddenly the man saw the rider and chased after him. He was barely able to walk away from fear, but his horse stumbled and the rider flew into the ditch. Roghay saw that it was not Ruslan, but Farlaf, and galloped away.

An old woman approached Farlaf (it was Naina), led the horse and advised him to go back and live in his estate near Kiev, because it's still difficult to find Lyudmila, and then she will not get away from Naina and Farlaf. He listened to the old woman and rode back.

Further, the brief content of the book "Ruslan and Lyudmila" tells the reader where the girl was languishing at this time. Her place of residence was the palace of the villain Chernomor. She woke up on the bed. Silently came three girls, servants, dressed, and brushed the beauty.

Lyudmila walked sadly to the window, looked at the winter landscape, then left the palace and saw a magical garden that was more beautiful than the "gardens of Armida." There were picturesque gazebos, waterfalls. After lunch on nature, the girl returned back and saw servants enter the room and bear the beard of Chernomor on the pillows, followed by himself, the hunchback and the dwarf.

The girl did not lose her head, grabbed "Karla for the hood", brought her fist over him, and then so screamed that everyone ran away in terror.

And at this time Ruslan fought against Rogdai who attacked him and defeated the bully, throwing it into the waves of the Dnieper. This continues the poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila."

The summary of the chapters is the third song

The servants, who retreated to Chernomor, combed their beards. Suddenly a winged serpent flew into the window and turned into Naina. The old woman said that the sorcerer is in danger - the bogatyrs are looking for Lyudmila. She flattered about Chernomor and confirmed that she was completely at his side.

On the pleasures of the evil wizard again entered the room of the girl, but did not see her there. The search for servants, too, was unsuccessful. It turns out that Lyudmila realized the properties of the hat. If you put it backwards, the person will become invisible, which she did. Here such magical accessories were used by Pushkin in his poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila." Very brief content quickly transfers the reader to the next scene.

At this time, the young man got into the battlefield, saw many soldiers killed. He picked up a shield, a helmet, a horn, but could not find a good sword. Near the field he saw a large hill, it turned out to be a real head. She told the traveler that she had once been on the shoulders of the hero-brother of Chernomor. But the latter was jealous of his tall and frightened brother. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the dwarf cut off his head and commanded the head to guard the sword, which, according to the legend, could cut off the magical beard of the sorcerer.

Canto Four

So quickly came to the fourth chapter a brief retelling of the content of "Ruslan and Lyudmila." Pushkin Alexander Sergeevich at first reflects on how wonderful that in this life there are not so many wizards. Further, he says that Ratmir searched for the castle in search of Lyudmila. There he was greeted by the charmers who fed the knight, surrounded him with attention, tenderness, care, and the young hero refused his former plans to find Vladimir's daughter. On this so far the author leaves a happy youngster and says that one Ruslan continues his chosen path. On the way he meets a giant, a hero, a witch, defeats them, does not go to the mermaids who beckon the young man.

In the meantime, Lyudmila is wandering in the invisible hat through the halls of the sorcerer, and he can not find her. Then the villain used cunning. He turned into a wounded Ruslana, the girl thought that this was her lover, rushed to him, the cap fell. At that moment, nets were laid on Lyudmila, and she fell asleep, unable to resist the sorcery of Chernomor.

Canto the Fifth

Soon Ruslan arrives at the monastery of the villain. He blows a horn to summon a duel. When the young man looked up, he saw that Chernomor was flying above him, holding a mace in his hand. When the sorcerer waved, Ruslan quickly recoiled, and the hunchback fell into the snow. The agile young man immediately jumped to the offender and grabbed hold of the beard.

But Chernomor suddenly rose under the clouds. However, the young man did not let go of his beard, so he was in the skies too. So they flew for a long time - over fields, mountains, forests. The sorcerer asked to let him go, but Ruslan did not do it. On the third day Chernomor resigned himself and carried his husband to his young wife. When they landed, the young man cut off the beard with his magic sword, tied it to his helmet, and dwarfed him in a sack and put it on his saddle.

The hero went to look for his beloved, but he could not find it. Then he began to destroy everything on his way and accidentally took off his hat from the girl. This sorcerer specially put on her headdress, so that her husband did not find his wife.

That's how Ruslan and Lyudmila finally met. The poem in abbreviation approaches the fast completion of the plot. No matter how hard he tried, he could not bring the girl back from a magical dream. He put it on his horse and rode home.

Then Ruslan meets the fisherman and finds out in him Ratmir, who chose one of all the prelests, and now lives happily with her in a house on the river bank.

When Ruslan stopped for the night, he was seriously wounded. To him crept Farlaf, hit 3 times with a sword, took Lyudmila and was such.

The Sixth Canto

Farlaf brought Lyudmila to the palace and deceived Vladimir, saying that he had saved the girl. However, no one could wake her up.

Old Finn Finn sprinkled Ruslan with live water, he instantly recovered and hurried to Kiev, which attacked Pechenegs. The hero bravely fought, thanks to which the enemy was defeated. After that, he touched Lyudmila's hands with the ring that Finn gave him, and the girl woke up.

A short summary ends. Ruslan and Lyudmila are happy, everything ends with a feast, Chernomor was left in the palace, as he lost his villainous power forever.

Epilogue

The narrative ends with an epilogue, in which the author says that in his work he glorified the traditions of deep antiquity. He shares his impressions of the Caucasus, describes the natural pictures of this side and is sad that he is far from the Neva.

The poet says that when he worked on the work, he forgot the insults, the enemies. In this he was helped by friendship, and as you know, Pushkin valued it very much.
