Ruben Grigoryan, Hero of Socialist Labor: biography and photo

Ruben Grigoryan is a Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of Lenin and Stalin prizes, a talented leader and mining engineer of the Soviet Union.

What kind of person was Ruben Grigoryan? His biography is official and extremely scarce. What is hidden behind the dry information?

At the beginning of the journey

What was left of the private life of such an outstanding person as Ruben Grigoryan? Date of birth: 11/11/1917 (24.11.1917), date of death: 25.11.1976. Putting his life on the altar of the socialist homeland, an outstanding man Ruben Grigoryan, where was he born? The birthplace is Kars town in the territory of Western Armenia (Russian Empire), which was given to Turkey in 1918 by the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.

Ruben Grigoryan came from an intelligent Armenian family of a surgeon. It can be assumed that the family left the city of Kars, like many Armenian families, fleeing from the genocide by the Turkish authorities. As a young Ruben found himself in Moscow, history is silent. But the dates say that at the age of 17 he entered the Moscow Mining Institute after graduating from the rabfak (1934), graduating in 1940. With a diploma of a mining engineer, a young specialist came to the city of Monchegorsk, where his working life at the Severonikel combine began. At this plant, he worked as a site manager for a year.

Murmansk region, Czechoslovakia

Since 1941, Ruben Aramaisovich's powers are expanding. In the same position, he works already in the mine department of the Murmansk region, where he remained until 1947. Hence the conclusion that he was not at the front. Apparently, he was released from conscription in the army because of the importance of his work. 1944 for Grigoryan marked the entry into the Communist Party. Membership in the party for the leading person in those times was considered the rule.

1947 year. Ruben Grigoryan was sent to the Czechoslovak town of Yakhimov for uranium mines, where he was appointed to the post of chief engineer of the mine "Rivne", where for four years he worked for the creation of the nuclear shield of his homeland in the company of such selfless people, sparing no health. Under the leadership of Grigoryan, the enterprise soon began to ship rich ores. His talent as a leader was clearly manifested during the years of his work in Czechoslovakia. After four years of productive work in Jáchymov, Ruben Grigoryan was recalled to the USSR.

Again in the Soviet Union

Grigoryan's return was connected with the construction of a uranium combine in Ukraine in the Krivoy Rog region. At the heart of the plant's creation were two operating mines. The appointment of Ruben Aramaisovich to the position of deputy chief engineer at one of the mines became a new step in his professional career. One year passed, and in 1952 Grigoryan became director of the mine. As the head of a large uranium combine Ruben Grigoryan showed excellent results. He was the initiator of the creation of new systems and equipment for the open and underground mining of uranium ore.

In Mangyshlak

The new Caspian Pre-Caspian Mining and Metallurgical Combine (PGMC) required the development of the social infrastructure of the city of Shevchenko (Aktau). There was a problem of the need to divide the management of the mines and the construction of the city. Minister E.P. Slavsky found a way out by endowing in 1961 with the authority of a single director of the PGMK RA Grigoryan. The city was built from scratch, in the desert, where there was exhausting heat in the summer, and in the winter - severe frosts. People suffered from lack of water, electricity, lived in barracks, but worked selflessly. The result of their labors was a beautiful city.

In addition to running the enterprise and building the city, Ruben Aramaisovich from 1963 to 1971 led a deputy work. To all this, in 1970, the post of deputy director of the Physical Research Institute was added.

In 1973, the first multifunctional nuclear power plant in the Soviet Union was commissioned at the PGMK. It was the world's first industrial fast neutron reactor. The plant gave the city and the plant heat, electricity and fresh water. The construction of the nuclear power plant would not have taken place, had there been no PGMC under the leadership of RA Grigoryan.

Results of life

Ruben A. Grigoryan passed away on November 25, 1976 at the age of 59. The place of his repose was the Moscow Kuntsevo Cemetery. He did not live up to retirement. What was the reason? Perhaps the hard work of all life, and not somewhere, but on uranium mines. There is no information available, whether his family was with him, whether Ruben Grigoryan was happy. Photo in public access is only one thing: an official snapshot in a jacket with many awards. But no officialdom will hide the eyes, wise and sad, like a biblical prophet, and a person full of nobility and dignity. Happiness is different for everyone. The notion of the happiness of an ordinary man in the street is too different from the idea of a large personality. For most, hard work in hazardous production and a great responsibility are not associated with happiness. Ruben Aramaisovich lived the only possible life for himself, dedicated to serving the Motherland and the people. In this he realized himself, and this is happiness.

The government rightly noted his merits: three orders, five medals, the Stalin Prize, the Lenin Prize, the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.

Tribute of Memory

In the city of Aktau, Ruben Aramaysovich Grigoryan as a pioneer of the city, a monument is erected, to which the traditions of the Armenian ethnocultural center are laid with annual flowers. November 25, the grateful residents of Aktau are carrying flowers to the monument to Ruben Aramaisovich.

Still alive are those who met with Ruben Grigoryan, in whom the memory of this amazing person is alive. They speak of an indelible impression even from a brief communication with him, note that he never used his position, despite the titles and awards, was an exceptionally decent, impeccably honest and kind person, and a leader - wise and far-sighted.

Gathering at the monument to Ruben Grigorian, honorary citizen of the city of Aktau, people express their gratitude to the man who gave strength and knowledge to the formation of their city and industry of the country. Such an event, of course, has a positive impact on the education of young people in the spirit of respect for true values and love for the Motherland.
