Roles and actors: "The Secret Fairway"

Already more than a quarter of a century ago, Central Television broadcast the first four-part film-serial "The Secret Fairway" (actors: A. Kotenev, L. Guzeeva, S. Bystritsky, L. Trutnev, V. Naumtsev), directed by the director and operator of the Odessa film studio V. Kostromenko Based on the same name by Leonid Platov. And today this modest film is shown on various TV channels, and not one new generation of TV viewers with genuine pleasure follows the history of the adventures of the commander of the Soviet torpedo boat Shubin, who managed to defuse the previously invincible and elusive fascist submarine. When watching, other actors are also remembered. "Secret Fairway" - a film in which for the first time in the history of world cinema was filmed the passage of a real submarine under water.

Producer

Kostromenko Vadim Vasilyevich is now Honored Art Worker of Ukraine. The director studied at the course of the workshop operators BI Volchek, and since 1957 he worked at the Odessa film studio. His career began as an operator Kostromenko, on his account 13 films. After he became a director and shot 12 films. In 1996, Vadim Vasilievich took up the post of director of the Museum of Cinematography of the Odessa branch of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.

Plot

The action takes place in 1944 in the formidable Baltic Sea. According to the story, the commander of the military torpedo boat of the USSR Boris Shubin quite by accident finds the secret channel of the fascist submarine without any identification marks. Tragic accident throws the hero on this "Flying Dutchman", and he is given an unforeseen opportunity to reveal the curtain of the secrets of the Third Reich surrounding the submarine. Such a plot has the film "The Secret Fairway", the actors and roles of which are familiar to every compatriot since childhood.

Illusion of the sea

It is clear that in the film, where the submarine is active, it is extremely difficult to do without episodes under water. At first, it was assumed that the surfacing and diving of the submarine will be shot in a special pool of the Odessa film studio, in the background of which a wonderful panorama of the Black Sea opens, creating the illusion of the sea distance. But the actors of the film "The Secret Fairway" supported the director-director, who, after seeing the immersion of a real warship, literally burst out with a desire to remove this episode in kind. All the underwater scenes were shot in the Crimea, in Balaklava Bay, the water of the sea in that part of the water area is particularly transparent. Since the film was narrating about the heroism of Soviet sailors, the naval command treated the filmmakers with respect and categorized everything absolutely free. The local population of Balaklava still willingly tells tourists how the "Secret Fairway" was shot.

Actors

The photo of that period of the performer of the main role of Anatoly Kotenev still surprises the fans, it seems that the actor really served in the fleet, so the picture shows the appropriate bearing. However, the actor had nothing to do with the fleet. He served as an artilleryman, but having a theatrical education, he spent most of the service on stage. During the filming, Anatoly was also useful in sports, as he had to jump with a parachute, stay afloat on the high seas, swim underwater.

The "secret fairway" (the actors and roles of which have been chosen successfully and harmoniously) brought popularity not only to the performers of the main roles. Anatoly Kotenev is now one of the leading Belarusian actors, his filmography exceeds 60 films and serials, he is the vice-president of the guild of actors in cinema in Belarus.

Larisa Guzeeva, who starred in this project after the unprecedented success of the "Cruel Romance", confirmed her professionalism. The death of her heroine caused great outrage of the viewer, the director received not one dozen angry letters with the question of why it was necessary to kill such a beautiful woman.

The actors of the film "The Secret Fairway", who played secondary roles, did not all continue their acting career. For example, Bogatyrev Vyacheslav, who played the youngster Shurku Lastikova, left the cinema, his whole life was connected with the sea. And the saboteur-scuba diver Petr Sherekin became an international instructor in the training of bodyguards and continued to act in films: "The long road to war", "The Mysteries of Madame Wong", "Experiment 200", "Prince Danilo Galitsky", etc.

The film has a lot of advantages, including a romantic line, without frank passionate scenes, without episodes of violence. This picture is extremely chaste. She spares her viewer and, most importantly, does not distract from the main topic - the secrets of the mystery. Another advantage of the film is that the opponents (fascists) are not shown by idiot idiots, finished scum and fierce monsters. They have their weaknesses and ideas, the notion of the soldier's honor. The fact that the authors of the film did not distort the idea of the writer is a separate advantage of the cinema, which makes it more adapted to the present. More and more viewers understand that, despite the horrors of the Second World War, some terrible cases, on both sides ordinary people were participants in it, as they were embodied on the screen by actors. "Secret fairway" - a complex film, it makes you think about events that can not be forgotten. Anyone who forgets history is doomed to repeat her mistakes.

Prophecy?

Now the director and actors of the "Secret Fairway" are called a prophetic picture, and this is no coincidence. In the culminating episode on the submarine, the fascist captain pronounces dreadful words in which he regrets the loss in the war, but promises to preserve National Socialism and introduce it into the postwar world, to grow it on a new fertile ground. It becomes bitter from the realization that even in the Russian Federation here and there fascism still raises its head. I want to believe that the painting "The Secret Fairway" (the actors and whose roles were liked by the viewer immediately after the mini-series broadcast) will make someone think about their warning in the final scene.

The secret of longevity in sincerity

Mini-series can not be called a masterpiece of the world film industry. This is an honest, soundly shot film, which after more than a quarter of a century looks with unflagging interest. The secret of such longevity is sincerity, the sense of personal involvement of the director V. V. Kostromenko and the professionalism demonstrated by absolutely all the actors. The "secret fairway" will be a symbol of some superiority of the domestic cinema, for the American cinematographers, despite all their modern technical sophistication, only after 5 years filmed the actual submarine sinking. Laurels of the discoverers in this area have remained behind the creative team of the film.
