Review of Sony Xperia Z

Not so long ago, namely in January 2013 in the American city of Las Vegas, one of the largest IT-technologies exhibitions in the coming year CES 2013. Particular attention should be paid to Sony, which brought to this market two top-end smartphones - it's Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia ZL. So, what can we say as soon as a given device gets to us? When the smartphone gets to us in the hands of a very surprising design, it is made using a special technology called Omni Balance, that is, tells us that the smartphone looks the same on both sides, while maintaining an ideal symmetry which is very pleasing to the eye.

Also worth noting is that the Sony Xperia Z is completely waterproof and does not allow dust, while it can be under water and shoot movies, but in this situation, the minus is not a working sensor, but the fact that the smartphone can dive under water can already be considered a big breakthrough.

All the individual elements of the body fit tightly to each other in such a way that there is no backlash and no creaking. The device has the following dimensions: its length is 139 millimeters, the width is 71 millimeters, and the thickness is only 7.9 millimeters and weight 149 grams. At first glance it may seem that at this size the phone will be inconvenient to lie in the hand, but due to the fact that it is very thin, it fits easily into the palm of your hand and you can operate it with one hand without any problems.

The screen diagonal is 5 inches or more, with a screen resolution of 1920 pixels in length and 1080 pixels in width or in other words a Full Hd resolution. The density of points per inch is very high and is 443 ppi, it immediately becomes clear that there is no question of any pixelation.

Now look at the smartphone from all sides and walk through all the connectors.
On the front side there are no physical buttons, Sony decided not to use them, and in return it was made by three sensory which we can see only when the device is turned on. Three touch buttons are located standard, at the bottom of the display, this is the "back", "home" and "menu" buttons from left to right respectively.

At the very bottom, so to say on the border of the case is a conversational speaker, which is very small in size and does not spoil the appearance of the device. At the top of the front panel we have the Sony logo, which is located at the very center, and to the left of it you can find the front camera. The camera has a resolution of 2.2 megapixels and can also shoot video clips with a resolution of 720p, that is, the usual Hd video.

A speaker through which we can hear the interlocutor during a telephone conversation is also located as the bottom speaker on the very edge of the case, only in the top, and they are symmetrical to each other, which once again proves to us the presence of Omni Balance technology. All the front part of the device is protected by shockproof glass to Which also has a protective film attached .

Let's look at the back side of the device and it's worth noting that it's 90 percent similar to the front one and when the device is turned off, you can easily confuse it with the main display. Here the only thing worth paying attention to is the camera, which is located slightly to the left of the center.

The camera in the Sony Xperia Z is fantastic, not only that Sony has always been different in quality of its cameras, so now something similar appeared on the mobile device. The resolution of the camera is 13 megapixels and it easily removes a full-fledged Full Hd video with a maximum resolution of 1980 by 1080 pixels.

Speaking about the photo camera, the distinguishing feature is its rate of fire when taking pictures, it can take more than 1000 pictures in just a minute and a half, and the images get very good quality with a resolution of 9 megapixels for each picture. Also stopping on the camera, it is worth noting that this is the only camera of the mobile device that shoots HDR video, before that there were only cameras that shoot HDR photos.

In the camera settings there is also Super Auto mode thanks to which it is not difficult to make a clear picture. Super Auto mode combines the recognition of conditions for shooting and high-quality image processing (HDR) and then selects automatic conditions for the picture. A little below the camera is an LED flash.

It's time to look at the ends of the phone. If you go from top to bottom, the right end is represented by: a SIM card slot, a power on / off button, a volume swing and at the very bottom a small speaker for sound reproduction.

The connector for the SIM card is tightly closed by a specially stub that prevents moisture and dust from getting there and as for the sim card itself, here it is of the micro sim class, the rest of the buttons on this end are not hidden by anything.

Now look at the left end and, going down from the top down we find: a micro usb connector , for connecting to a charger or synchronizing the phone with a computer, a memory card slot, and two contacts for connecting the device to the docking station. The micro usb connector and the memory card slot are also protected with a plug and do not allow moisture and dust to pass through.

The top end contains only one connector which, like all the previous ones, is securely protected - it is a 3.5 mm jack for connecting a headset or headphones. The bottom end of the connectors does not have but contains a conversational speaker.

The battery is located under the lid, which is best removed to the conditions of the service center, the battery capacity is 2330 mAh.

The last thing worth analyzing is the technical and software part. Initially, the smartphone comes from the box under the operating system Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but in the future it is clear that he will receive a lot of latest updates.

The processor here is Qualcomm, four core with a frequency of 1500 MHz for each core, the internal memory is 16 gigabytes and the amount of RAM is 2 gigabytes. It also presents all the latest interfaces, namely Bluetooth, WiFi, Gps, Mhl, Nfc, as well as support for LTE networks.

The only drawback is the lack of such an HDMI output device.

Acquainted with the smartphone Sony Xperia Z, we can conclude that Sony has managed to make a revolution in the world of mobile devices, as well as set the trend for the current year. For no one, no secret that this year will be a lot of such smartphones, but we live in today's day and to date, the Sony Xperia Z is the number one flagship in the world of mobile devices by all characteristics.
