Research work in the college and university. Primary requirements

Part of the educational process in the college or university is research work, which is planned at the beginning of the academic year. Let's consider in more detail the basic requirements that are presented to it.

Goal and tasks

Research is a student's own study, which reveals his ability to apply knowledge in order to solve specific practical problems. It should be completed, demonstrating the ability of the student to use competently the special terminology, express clearly the thoughts, to argue the results and draw conclusions.

Research objectives:

  1. Learn how to analyze the approaches available in foreign and domestic science.
  2. To develop the skills of independent scientific activity, applying them in solving practical problems.
  3. Ability to demonstrate the ability to analyze and systematize the results obtained in the process of research.
  4. Encourage interest in scientific activities.

Main stages

There is a general algorithm on the basis of which scientific research is based.

At the first stage, there is a choice of its problems, as well as the wording of the topic. Particular attention should be paid to drawing up the "skeleton" of future work.

The second stage consists in gathering information and available knowledge on the selected problems, as well as analyzing and synthesizing the data. This is necessary for the full development of the concept and planning.

The third stage involves the design of a program in which you need to carefully consider the selection of research methods. Especially if it is research work in biology or other natural sciences.

The fourth stage consists in carrying out the experiment and processing the results. Upon completion of this work, it is necessary to correctly write theoretical and empirical material in writing. And it does not matter, it's research work on the environment, or on the humanities. Requirements for design will be exactly the same.

In the fifth stage, when the research work will be approved by the supervisor, it is submitted for review. After receiving a positive response, the student is given the opportunity to publicly defend it.

As noted, research work should be presented in writing and have a clear structure. Let's consider it in more detail.

The title page is filled in according to the rules established in this educational institution.

The content must necessarily have the title of chapters and paragraphs with the indication of the pages.

Then the main part begins.

In the introduction, relevance is justified and the research problem is formed. In addition, it is necessary to distinguish the degree of its development, purpose, object, subject and tasks. The formulation of the hypothesis, of scientific and practical significance, as well as of the provisions put forward for defense will be particularly difficult. Depending on the discipline, an important point will be the selection of experimental methods (for example, if it is research work in psychology, sociology, and so on).

In the first chapter it is necessary to state the results of a theoretical analysis of the literature and draw conclusions. Do this in a systematic way.

The second chapter presents the results of an experimental study with a detailed description of the program, the data and recommendations received. It ends with detailed conclusions.

In conclusion, it is necessary to give a brief analysis of the results obtained.

Research should also contain a list of literature and applications.
