Reproduction of strawberries with mustaches and seeds

Strawberries (like strawberries) are capable of multiplying by two methods. The simplest and most uncomplaining is the reproduction of strawberries by a mustache. After a period of fruiting, the plant releases its shoots to the garden bed. In order to ensure that their larger number does not die, the soil around the strawberry should be treated: weed from the weeds and gently loosen. Due to this, the mustache will firmly take root in the ground.

Watch for soil moisture. For a while the shoots need additional watering. Correct landing of mustaches implies shallow earthing. Sockets should not be deeply planted. When reproducing strawberries with mustaches, the first two mustaches should be used as seedlings, the rest should be cut off. By the first days of autumn, when the plants became stronger and well rooted, they can be transferred to a permanent place. Lumps of earth from the shoots do not need to be shaken. This can lead to an additional disease of the plant.

It is desirable for breeding strawberries or strawberries to use unused sockets - after the first or second year they become inefficient and are exposed to numerous diseases. If during the fruiting of strawberries you notice the painful fruit, this plant is best not to use for further reproduction.

The second method of reproduction involves growing whiskers. What does this mean? As soon as the plant has released the mustache, they are carefully cut, trying not to damage the bush itself, and planted on the gardening beds. Already there sockets are gaining strength. To cut off the whiskers it is desirable to use sharp scissors or a knife. Remember that cutting a mustache close to a plant is strictly forbidden. Leave a free edge about 2 cm.

It is worth noting that, while reproducing strawberries with mustaches, you can use both rooted sprouts, and a mustache without roots. There should be three leaves for the first, and two for the second. The remaining leaves are superfluous, they should be cut off. Cutting is also applied to the roots (leave a length of up to 5 cm). The landing pattern is quite simple: the distance between the seedlings should be from 5 to 15 cm. In the end, everything should be watered abundantly. In fairly hot weather plants should be covered with non-woven covering material, either before the weather change, or for a couple of weeks. The shelter stimulates the growth of the root system of the mustache. Ah, how fresh the strawberry is! Care, reproduction should be done qualitatively, only in this way it is possible to achieve a good harvest.

Daily watering, weeding from weeds, periodic loosening of the soil becomes mandatory. In early September, plants can be transferred to a permanent place.

The sufficiency of the development of the rosette is indicated by the presence of 3 leaves and a strong root system about 5 cm in length. Reproduction of strawberries by mustache is not suitable for small-fruited varieties and varieties without mustaches. They multiply by seeds. Seeding occurs in March. Seeds are laid on top of a well-moistened and fairly dense soil. The container is covered with a film or glass and placed in a refrigerator, after three days they are taken out to a warm place. Sprouts should appear within a month.

It is also possible to multiply the strawberries by dividing the bush. It is a partisation and is conducted, as a rule, in the spring.
