Reading technique, Grade 1: GEF standards

The key to successful learning of the child is the ability to read, which is formed virtually the entire primary school, and for many, this skill develops further. Some continue to train him in adulthood, which allows them to quickly read material of the same complexity and volume at different stages of their lives.

The technique of reading is not synonymous with the speed of perception of the text, since it is also expressed in the degree of its comprehension. It is especially important for the development of such characteristics as the technique of reading, 1st class. The standards are set fairly sparing, as any complex skills develop over time.

What is reading technique

1 class (the norms will be given in the table) is a very important period in the life of the child. After all, if you do not learn at this age to read, then it will be much harder to do. Many children are already going to school, being able to read, which allows them to pass all the exams with distinction. Those who do not know how to read before the first grade usually receive an evaluation lower, so it is strongly recommended that the child be taught the perception of simple texts from a very young age.

The technique of reading (1st grade): the standards that were set by the state do not include only the speed of reading. It is important to understand that although only this indicator is given in the table, it is necessary to take into account other criteria.

Awareness of Reading

This parameter determines how the child perceives and remembers the read. The awareness of reading depends not only on the abilities of the child, but also on the content of the passage. It is advisable to use simple texts for testing this component of reading technique, in which there are not many long sentences. And let the score be set against the background of the others.

Reading speed

This is an important parameter, so it is designated as the main one. The faster the person reads the material, the more time he will have after studying and doing the necessary homework in the future. Therefore, it will be easier for him to force himself to work, since he will not have much difficulty learning the paragraph. In fact, one property complements the other, so to effectively remember the material you need both to be able to quickly perceive the text, and understand its meaning.

Method of reading

For adults this indicator is not part of the reading technique, but for children it is very important. Then, the child reads through the syllables material or is able to see the whole word or part of the phrase, shows the degree of mastering the skill. Of course, adults perceive several words simultaneously with the help of peripheral vision, but this skill already directly affects the previous indicator. Therefore, it characterizes not the ability to read, but only the amount of time it takes to do it.

Expressive reading

The reading technique of Grade 1 (GEF standards) provides for the following criterion for reading techniques. It is expressed in such indicators:

  • Use pauses that help to digest the listening person and most reading everything that was said before. When a child learns to read to himself, pauses do not disappear anywhere, intonationally highlighting significant fragments of the text, which sets the brain to their improved perception.
  • Finding the right intonation. This task is not easy because the child needs to simultaneously grasp pieces of the text with his eyes, analyze their emotional saturation and think what intonation is best for them.
  • A correct statement of stress. Very often, due to the lack of this ability to listen to the text it becomes impossible, or it starts to be misunderstood. The same, incidentally, concerns pauses. That famous phrase "can not be pardoned" changes its meaning not only from the location of the comma, but from the correct pause.

As you can see, there are a lot of factors affecting the parameter, such as the reading technique.

Grade 1: Zankov standards

At the beginning of the first grade, grades for study are not exhibited. Therefore, if there is a test of the student's reading technique, it is done only for the analysis of progress. In the second half of the academic year, the child must masterfully read the small sentences by syllables, and also be able to listen. He also must demonstrate the comprehension of the text: answer the questions posed by the teachers, and briefly retell the reading.

But the last action does not always characterize the technique of reading a child, since the ability to speak can be good, and little children can not formulate the thoughts in a way that even a poorly speaking adult does. Therefore, the ability to retell a text should be only an additional characteristic associated with such a concept as the technique of reading (1st class, standards).

2014 (program) and new versions of standards: table

Let's consider what rates of reading speed should be observed for exhibiting a certain rating.

The technique of reading - 1 class, standards (UMK "School of Russia")
1 quarter 2 quarters 3 quarter 4 fourth
5 Estimates are not made 21 word per minute and more 36 or more words per minute 41 or more words per minute
4 16-20 words per minute 26-35 words per minute 31-40 words per minute
3

10-15 words per minute

20-25 words per minute 25-30 words per minute
2 9 and fewer words per minute 19 and fewer words per minute 24 and fewer words per minute

How to improve the reading technique in a child

The technique of reading, the first class - regulations and rules is good, but how to achieve high results? For a child who has only learned to read, to become an excellent student in this aspect is quite difficult. For the development of technology, the child needs to perform such exercises:

  • Daily reading out loud texts of varying complexity. It can be both familiar poems and interesting new books. School reading lessons to increase the speed is clearly not enough.
  • Reading the other way around. This is a very useful exercise that teaches a child to combine letters into words and read even terms that he has never heard of and has no idea how they should look in the text.

Also, to improve the efficiency of reading, you can try to perceive the material by turning the book upside down.
