Raf coffee - what is it? How did he appear? This drink was first made in a Moscow cafe called Caffee Bean in 1996. New (unusual at that time) cafeterias offered a huge number of various options for coffee. And now one of the regular visitors of this institution once said that he does not really like the coffee taste. To try to please the client and not fall into the dirt face, the barista of this cafe came up with a recipe that combined coffee, cream and sugar. As a result, a very original cocktail was produced, which was presented to the whimsical client. This person was called Raphael, or abbreviated Raf.

After a while, looking at his friend, who is happy to drink an unusual drink, Raf's friends also wanted to try it, and they began to ask for the same coffee as Rafa. So there was a name - raf-coffee.

What does the drink consist of?

His composition is very simple. In the classic version, submitted to the trial of Raphael, there were only a few ingredients. To date, different cafes offer variations with different syrups. These are the components:

  • 25 ml of classic espresso;
  • 100 ml of 10% cream;
  • 10 grams of vanilla sugar or a mixture of vanilla and normal in a percentage of 50 to 50.

Cooking method

First, prepare a classic espresso. To do this, take 7 grams of finely ground grains and pour 30 ml of cold water. Heat it over low heat until foam appears. Remove from the plate.

Secondly, mix the cream with sugar and heat them until hot and dissolving the sugar.

Mix espresso and creamy mass and whisk the mixture with a whisk or a blender for cocktails. A special taste is given by a stable foam mass, which is formed by careful whipping. Serve the drink best in transparent glasses.
