Before drawing a bird, let's determine what kind of bird we want to see on our piece of paper. The bird kingdom is diverse, among its representatives there are sometimes very original specimens.

The one whom everyone knows

We will focus on how to draw a bird called a "sparrow". This is a close neighbor of man, who can perfectly adapt to any conditions. A brownish-brown body, white cheeks, a short perky beak, black beads of the sparrow's eyes are familiar to everyone, but to recreate this bird with graphics on a piece of paper, it will have to try.

First sketch: geometry

Consider how to draw a bird in pencil, in stages. In the figure, it will be important to show the shape and texture of our model. Let's start with a sketch of geometrically figures, which then turn into the body of a sparrow.

Vertical half-inclined large oval we place in the center, to it from above we will draw a circle, and behind - a cathetus of a rectangular triangle. Around these figures there should be enough room for the details, which we will then complement the drawing. Lines should be light, you do not need to press a pencil.

Create a contour of a bird

The next step in how to draw a bird-sparrow, is to skillfully outline the contour around the created figures. With the outline of the contour, we combine the bird's head with the breast and back. From the sharp corner of the triangle from behind we depict a long, feathered tail of the bird. From the center of the oval to the base of the tail we draw a straight dividing line for the wing. Under the oval two semicircular lines, we mark the feet of the sparrow.

Working on the details

Now you can erase the original sketch from the geometric shapes with an eraser and draw a contour of our sparrow with more confident pencil lines. We will spend some time on drawing the feet of the bird. If, before drawing a bird, to carefully study the structure of the feet of the sparrow, we will see that they look like straight, short and thin sticks with knobby joint "fingers", the kittens, with which the bird successfully restrains on the branches.

Then we'll focus on the head of our model. In the center of the circle, draw a black eye with a glare of light, in front of it we draw a beak. The upper part should look wider than the bottom. We will outline the ornament of plumage on the breast and on the back of the bird.

Soft feathers

Next we will create a texture of the feathers. We shall designate them under the wing with sharp zigzags. They will be rounded, resembling a fan. We shade the tail and the part adjacent to it, more densely. In the same way we stroke the tips of the wings. On the poultry of the bird we put a weak shading, we leave some places unpainted. Leaving the cheeks white, thickly weed out the head of the sparrow. Glare on feathers of wings and heads will create the effect of light and shadow, and therefore make the drawing more realistic.

Add color

Having convinced ourselves how to draw a bird, using step-by-step black-and-white hatching, we can try to color a sparrow with colored pencils or watercolor. The principle of the image will also be based on the correct combination of light and shadow, we need only choose the right shades of black, brown, gray, yellow and brown colors. The head, wings and tail of the sparrow are brownish-brown, at the base of the wing there is a small yellowish-white strip. The breast, tummy and legs alternate with dark and light gray shades. It is best to draw a sparrow not from memory, but from nature. It's easy to find in photos or just look out the window.

At the final stage, we create a background for the bird, pleasing the eye. A sparrow can sit on a tree, on a bird feeder platform or enjoy the blue of the sky and the shine of a warm sun on the roof of the house.
