Project My Elections

Young people learned about the intricacies
Electoral process.

The project "My Elections", the idea of realization of which belongs to the individual entrepreneur Tatyana Anatolievna Shapkina, was completed recently in Moscow. The organizers of the program set a goal to attract the attention of Moscow youth to the electoral process, increase its political literacy and influence the formation of active citizenship among young people. The project was implemented with the support of the Department of Family and Youth Policy of Moscow.

It's no secret that a large proportion of Russians are distrustful
To elections, including youth. This is due to the low political and
Legal culture of the population, and as a result - disinterest in politics,
Alienation from it.

Denial of the rule of law, caution in relation to the authorities, negative social experience - all these factors influence, ultimately, the electoral activity of young people.

With the help of the social project "My Elections" it was possible to change this situation towards improvement.

During the project, a course of lectures entitled "My choices - my choice" was read for three thousand young people aged 18 to 30 years. During the training, a considerable amount of time was devoted to the issues of electoral law, the electoral process and the constitution of the Russian Federation.

As part of the business game "Your voice -
Force ", the participants were able to choose their" leader ", develop an electoral campaign for him, organize the election process and its coverage in the media, carry out vote counting and publish results. Thanks to the game "Your voice is power," young people were able to make sure that "choosing a leader" requires a high degree of responsibility, carries additional opportunities.

The result of the project "My Elections" was a series of actions on the city orientation "I choose myself". Each action was associated with some event related to the elections, for example, with the elections to the State Duma in 2011. About 100 young people participated in the rallies.

Within the framework of the "My Elections" project, the publication "First Steps of a Citizen" was developed, detailing and captivatingly telling the reader about the need to have a firm civic position. The methodical manual "On Elections is Easy and Accessible", also released for the purpose of implementing the project, outlines the methodology for teaching the basics of political literacy and the electoral process.
