Pressure in pregnancy, how dangerous is the deviation from the norm?

Pregnancy is a condition that requires close monitoring by a doctor. At every admission from the obstetrician-gynecologist to the future mother, blood pressure (BP) must be measured. This is due to the fact that his significant deviation from the norm may have a bad effect on the bearing of the baby, and sometimes also indicate a serious pathology.

During this period, serious changes occur in the body, so the pressure in pregnancy changes. So until 16 weeks it normally goes down, and because of this there are dizziness, malaise, weakness, fainting, nausea and vomiting. These phenomena are intensified when they are in a stuffy place, hunger, standing on their feet for a long time.

If the pressure decreases during pregnancy, then this is normal. However, its low value can lead to the fact that the fruit will not receive oxygen and the necessary substances. Therefore, to prevent complications, sleep 8 hours at night, be on air, eat well, perform light physical exercises, rest more and not be nervous.

If the pressure during pregnancy is below 90/60, then drug treatment is needed, which is carried out in the hospital, as this can be a sign of the disease and harm the baby. At risk are thin women and those who are addicted to diets.

If the pressure in pregnancy decreased suddenly, this is indicated by nausea and dizziness. You should lie down, unbutton your clothes, open the window, bring ammonia to the nose.

Thus the norm of pressure at pregnant women depends on its size before conception. Most often it is in the range of 100/60 - 120/80. However, each person has normal pressure individually, it is determined by a comfortable state of health. It is better to learn it before conception and if there are any problems to consult with specialists.

During pregnancy it is better to measure pressure not only in the doctor's office, but also at home in a quiet environment. Because a long wait in the queue and excitement at the reception can distort the picture.

During the bearing of the child, the cardiovascular system experiences great stress. Increases the tone of blood vessels, increases the volume of blood, develops a powerful system of the uterus-placenta. The heart of a woman adapts to these changes gradually.

After 16 weeks there is a slight increase in blood pressure. At the same time, the normal pressure in pregnant women can either correspond to its value before conception, or the first figure can increase by not more than a third, and the second figure should not exceed 80.

Elevated blood pressure may indicate hypertension, kidney disease and gestosis (late toxicosis). It can be suspected in the presence of edema and the presence of protein in the urine. If the pressure is increased in the first trimester, then this indicates the presence of some other disease. At the same time, a woman feels ringing in the ears, headaches, nosebleeds, increased sexual desire, flies before her eyes.

Gestosis is a dangerous condition that threatens the health of women and fetuses. It can provoke a detachment of the placenta. In the risk group are very young women after 40. In addition, gestosis can occur due to stress, fatigue, hereditary predisposition, endocrine pathology, hypertension, kidney disease, excess weight, smoking.

Thus, pregnant women need to monitor their blood pressure, and it is better to determine their norm before conception, consult with specialists and, if necessary, be treated. It is better to measure it not only at a doctor's appointment, but also at home in a quiet environment to get a reliable picture. If you feel unwell, be sure to visit a doctor and inform him about it. Because pressure problems can lead to serious consequences.
