Pneumatic lifting jack: device and advantages

Pneumatic jack is a complex technical device designed for the rapid lifting of any heavy loads. It is used mainly at stations of service stations and car repair shops, but sometimes it can be seen at the construction site. However, this is not surprising, because in both cases there is a need to raise some heavy cargo. Whether it's a car or a concrete slab, it does not matter, a pneumatic jack can handle any load. Of course, without exceeding the permissible limits of the manufacturer's capacity.

Characteristic

Pneumatic jacks for cars are a flat device, based on: a durable polymer material, a supporting screw, an air line and a handle. In addition, inside the device there are a number of mechanisms that carry out the rapid lifting of the vehicle.

Principle of operation

The algorithm of the action of this tool is based on the principle of compressed air (more rarely - gas). The stages of operation of the mechanisms are as follows: first, air entering the system through the special air line into the system fills the flat chamber of the device. At the same time, a large pressure inside the mechanism, which expands the rubber cushions of the jack. They then abut the bottom of the car or some other surface, thereby lifting the vehicle up. How, then, does the car go down? Here, too, there is nothing complicated. By pressing the required lever in the system, a special valve is triggered, which also relieves pressure from the system. Thus, the car goes back to the wheels.

Specifications

A pneumatic jack can have very different characteristics depending on the classification and type. Proceeding from this, the level of working pressure, which is formed in the system, can be from 2 to 9 atmospheres, and the lift height - from 37.5 to 56 centimeters. However, what remains in them is the same, so it's the same pick-up height (15 centimeters) and low payload. Depending on the model, pneumatic jacks for cars can lift devices weighing from 1 to 4 tons. And what about the manufacturer's recommendations that a 4-ton mechanism can be safely used to lift huge truck tractors? After all, do not forget that the laws of physics have not been canceled, and the mass that was built on the 4 wheels of the car, after lifting the car, the device falls on the "shoulders" of 3 tires and the same lifting gear. In order to understand the weight of an automobile pneumatic jack , it is enough to simply divide the mass of the vehicle by the number of wheels it has. What comes out? For example, if the tonnage of a 2-axle wagon is about 7.5 tons, then a pneumatic jack with a lifting capacity of at least 1.875 tons should be fitted to lift it. Approximately goes to 1850 kilograms per wheel, plus exactly the same (possibly with minor errors) on the lifting mechanism.
