Platycodone. Landing and care for the marvelous bell

Many saw the field bell, but platikodon - no. But this is the same flower, only slightly larger, and has several colors, unlike the usual bell. It belongs to the family of bellflowers, grows wildly and is found in Eastern Siberia, Japan, Korea, as well as in the Far East and northeast China. It is a perennial plant and has one more name - a large-bell-shaped bell.

Since platikodon - a tall plant, it is often planted in flower beds and curbs. It blooms more than 50 days, from the first days of summer and ending in mid-August. There are also dwarf varieties of these charming bells.

You must replenish your flower garden with such a wonderful plant, like platycodone, planting and caring for which you will not take much time. This flower is inherently unpretentious. Well tolerates winter, prefers well-lit places, but in summer direct exposure to sunlight can harm him. It should be noted that it is not necessary to plant different varieties of these bells next to each other, because they will be dusted, while the varietal characteristics can not be preserved. And high grades should be tied up, otherwise they can break from a strong wind or bend from a shower.

Platycodone. Planting and caring for him

Let's talk in more detail about the practice of breeding a flower. In a plant like platycodone, planting (and leaving afterwards, but more about this later) takes place in several ways: seed and vegetative. Usually the seeds are planted in early spring in a container, slightly pressing into the ground. After the appearance of small leaves, the seedlings are very gently transplanted into the street. Since your seedlings are still small and fragile, water it gently and protect from direct sunlight.

The vegetative method of reproduction is very laborious, that's why plants are planted with people with great experience in this matter. Because the stem cuttings, separated from the plant, do not so easily take root. It will be very painful if you do everything as expected, and platikodon, care for which was so careful, will take and die. It is better to plant seeds, then there will be confidence that they will definitely germinate.

They need to be planted in a loose, fresh and nutrient-rich soil. Watering should be moderate. In no case can you use a lot of water, otherwise the plant can easily rot and you will deprive your garden of such a wonderful flower as platikodon, planting and caring for which will be only for you. He will reward you for this with his unearthly beauty.

It is very a pity that this wonderful flower is not widely distributed in ornamental gardening, usually such flowers are planted on the slice. Try to plant this bell in your garden, and it will seem to you that you are in a forest glade. A variety of colors will pleasantly surprise you - from white flowers to blue. Also there are many shades of blue, pink and lilac. Dwarf varieties will look great on your balcony in containers or tubs. But they will look no worse in the flowerbed.

Platikodon, the photo of which you can see here, is very effective against the background of gray stones. If you have a stone garden or an alpine hill at your dacha, you should add blue paints in them in the form of these little bells.
