Pinsky Medical College. Advice to entrants

One of the most respected educational institution of the city for a long time is the Pinsk Medical College, which has always participated in the development of medicine and public health in all districts of the region. The whole history of Belarus of the twentieth century was reflected in the establishment of this institution, since all the events that took place here could not but leave a trace in his life.

Under Poland

The First World War almost completely destroyed the Pinsk region, occupied by the Polish troops. The impoverished population did not have the most basic sanitary conditions, so whole families wiped out infections. The government was not in a position to provide residents with food and clothing, and there was no question of medical assistance at all. There were almost no physicians, paramedics too, there were few hospitals, and there were never any places in them, despite the fact that the treatment cost was insanely expensive.

Even infectious patients were forced to stay at home and often died. There was one epidemic after another in the region, and their scales increased every year. Doctors, even those who worked tirelessly, had to reconcile themselves with the current state of affairs, and often purely philosophically explained the situation with high mortality ethnographic features of the terrain.

Soviet authority

Social conditions did not improve until the coming of Soviet power. Only then did the medical care become not only public, but also managed to stop the epidemic. There were not enough medical workers of all levels and all specialties, especially midwives, paramedics and nurses. For training the midwifery school was opened, in the future - the Pinsk Medical College.

It was 1940, and the future seemed cloudless in these suffered lands. But the Second World War broke out, which once again completely destroyed the everyday life of the population. The cities and villages were in ruins, people were exhausted, and there were few of them left. And together with the whole country the region began its revival. All teachers and all college students, who by 1941 numbered only a few dozen people, defended their homeland - someone in the Red Army, the rest in partisan detachments. How many wounded were able to save these young nedoučivshiesya nurse! And how many died ...

Release

In August 1944 the restored medical school started work again. First - with one group of first-year students, and in 1945, they scored two more, one of which was joined by those who returned from the fronts to continue their studies. The room had to be shared with a pedagogical school, which also already functioned.

But already in 1946 Pinsk Medical College moved to the premise of secondary school No. 9. This was not the last resettlement. Only in 195 the year I managed to settle in a separate building along the Irkutsk-Pinsk Division, and in 1961 the school found its permanent home on Rokossovsky Street, house 6. From the first post-war days, the Pinsk Medical College had its own hostel.

Conditions for study

Until 1949, working conditions and studies could be called difficult: there were not enough rooms, visual aids and textbooks were destroyed by the war, teachers were in short supply, but practical training for future medical assistants, midwives and medical sisters was then lacking: the entire Pinsk regional hospital was in their Disposal plus a maternity hospital. The first issue was held in 1947, thirty-three people received diplomas on vocational education and immediately were sent to the most difficult areas in the districts of the region.

Chosen by their profession of medicine schoolchildren already in high school knew where to go, about the school from the very beginning was very good glory. The following issues have already been distributed wider - to Brest and the region, even to other republics. The staff of teachers gradually developed very successfully, all were creative and selfless people. Stay on the board of honor in the city of their portraits never ceased. And in 1987, in the socialist competition among the medical schools of the entire Soviet Union, Pinsk State Medical College was the winner and was awarded the Red Banner.

History of renaming

For all the many years of the work of the Pinsk Medical School graduates left its walls 57 times, only eleven thousand specialists joined in the care of their fellow citizens. As a result of the transformation, the medical school turned into the Pinsk State Medical College on the order of the Minister of Health of Belarus only in 2001. And during this time the institution managed to train 1123 more specialists.

Before Pinsk's eleventh-grader, who wished to become doctors, and now there is no question - where to go, since the best educational institution is nearby. The main bases for practical training became much more: the Pinsk central hospital with its polyclinic was supplemented by a children's hospital, also with a polyclinic, a maternity hospital, a sanitary and epidemiological station, and a dermatological dispensary.

Educational work

Colleges after grade 11 are currently available to applicants in all their diversity: in addition to medical, they are also for those who chose any other kind of activity - from the colleges of the arts and legal to engineering and technology. And the future doctors also have a rich choice: only in Minsk there are several, and in every large enough city they are present. But why go somewhere if the eleventh-year-old lives in the same city where Pinsk Medical College is located?

Passing scores here, however, are quite high, but if desired, all the difficulties are surmountable. Especially if students here are waiting for interesting programs on the same profile of "Healthcare" as everywhere else. They not only receive secondary specialized medical education, but also raise their qualifications, moreover, retraining of managers and specialists on educational standards adopted in the republic is conducted. The programs here are not only educational, but also educational. The health department of the Brest regional executive committee manages the college.
