Penza Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church

Archbishop Gaius Takaow was not at all easy for the First Archpastor. Historically, the diocese united two areas: Saratov and Penza. This was the difficulty of management. Due to the fact that there were no premises for the bishop on the Saratov land, the consistories, they were located in Penza. The diocese operates 176 temples and churches throughout the region. It has many highly esteemed shrines, among which the Kazan Nizheloomovskaya icon of the Mother of God, the Penza Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, which Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich himself gave to the townspeople.

Particularly revered Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God, which found refuge in the Vadinsky Monastery, as well as the Trubchev Icon of the Mother of God, which has long been located in the Trinity-Scanned Monastery. The holy relics of Innocent, the priest of St. John, draw crowds of suffering Orthodox.

First person

The bishop of the diocese is Seraphim, Metropolitan of Penza and Nizhnelomovsky. In the world, Domin Sergey, he took the tonsure on April 2, 1999, was born and grew up in the town of Kamenka. He received a spiritual education in the Saratov seminary, and in 1997 was ordained a priest. Soon in the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "The Life-giving Spring", which is located on the territory of the St. Tikhvin Kerensky Monastery, was tonsured as a monk. He received the name in honor of the priest of St. Seraphim.

Since 2009, he worked at the Penza School, and since 2011 he began teaching at a theological seminary. Despite the "young age", this talented and dedicated clergyman became a metropolitan on February 1, 2014, in May of the same year received the post of rector of the theological academy of Penza. At the same time, he became a sacred archimandrite of the Nizhnelomovsky Kazan Monastery.

Since childhood

At present, the Penza Orthodox Gymnasium is open in the region, which has its own unique history. But it was so. In the 90s of the last century, a Sunday school was opened on the territory of the Uspensky Cathedral, where children enjoyed studying the Law of God on weekends. The importance of the church grew with the years, and it became clear - the school should grow and develop. So in 1998 the Orthodox gymnasium opened the doors, in which little Penza students began to learn. In 2007, the institution received the status of municipal general education and was named "Gymnasium in the name of St. Innocent Penza". The institution trains children from 1 to 11 classes according to the established program. With her works the Temple in the name of St. Innocent, in which the services are regularly held. The diocese of the Penza region pays attention not only to children of school age, but also to the smallest townspeople: the School of Early Development operates on the territory.

Parishes of the Diocese

As it was said above, more than 170 parishes are administered in the entire Penza region. The largest of them are the Spassky Cathedral, the Assumption Cathedral, the Intercession Bishop's Cathedral. Thousands of pilgrims are dragged to the Temple of the faithful princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom, the Temple of St. Seraphim of Sarov, the Temple in the name of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow and many other parishes.

In each village of the Penza region there is a temple, to which "the people's path" does not "grow." A large number of parishes are located in nursing homes and boarding schools, correctional facilities, clinical hospitals and other medical institutions. The Russian people have always been extremely pious, and the inhabitants of the Penza land are no exception.

In the subordination of the archbishop of the diocese is the Trinity Convent, the Transfiguration Monastery, Nizhnelomovskiy Kazan-Bogoroditsky Monastery, the Assumption Convent. In these holy monasteries day and night, brothers and sisters pray for peace, peace and prosperity of the Russian land. The monasteries of the Penza diocese are famous throughout the country and collect hundreds of pilgrims in their walls.

Welcome

The Penza diocese awaits guests with open arms. The pilgrimage department organizes trips for both children and adults to the territory of the temples and monasteries of the region, Russia and neighboring countries. Everyone can choose a tour by their pocket, purpose and duration. Daily pilgrims are sent to Orthodox tours. In company with other Orthodox and experienced guides, anyone can meet any holiday on the territory of a majestic temple or monastery with a long history.

The blessing I create

It's no secret that all the temples and monasteries of Russia can not exist without parishioners. Charitable money and donations of pilgrims are built new and restored existing monasteries, purchased inventory, paid for the needs of the parishes. Everyone who has the opportunity must contribute to the common cause and support those who pray for us day and night.

So, the Penza diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church needs material means. Residents of the village of Shemisheyka are eagerly waiting for the opening of the church in the name of Nicholas the Wonderworker. He began to build on the money of a businessman who sponsored the laying of the foundation, erecting the walls of the bell tower and the church. Later the money was over and the construction stopped. Many thanks to the person who made a huge contribution to the birth of the new church, but still a lot of material and financial resources are needed to continue what was started.

Office of the Diocese

Despite the fact that the church is a spiritual body, it needs a solid and reasonable hand that can rationally conduct the affairs of the parish. The diocesan administration includes departments of religious education, youth affairs, interaction with the Armed Forces, social service and charity. The pilgrimage department, the union of Orthodox women, the department for counteraction to alcoholism and drug addiction, the union of Orthodox youth are working. The Penza diocese in modern realities is compelled to cover with its attention all spheres of human life.

On a note

Each of us at least once in his life was in the temple, put a candle in front of the icon, asked the Lord God for something of his own, secret and secret. Despite the progress and leap of civilization, the spiritual component of our life has not sunk into oblivion. We all need to help churches and churches that pray for our health and well-being. As far as possible, you need to visit holy places, make pilgrimage excursions. During them it is important to follow certain rules: to be clean and spiritually, and physically. Each woman should be dressed in appropriate clothing: a headscarf on her head, a skirt below the knees, and shoulders are always covered. Men can not visit holy monasteries in flip flops, shorts, open T-shirts.

The Holt of the Soul

Now you know what kind of land this is - the Penza diocese. Photos show how temples and monasteries flourish. For that year, during which Bishop Seraphim began to lead the diocese, many parishioners of churches celebrate dramatic changes for the better. With his light hand, regular meetings were held with pupils of the colonies, orphanages and boarding schools for children and the elderly. All sorts of literary contests on Orthodox themes contribute to the fact that the importance of the church is growing in society. The Penza diocese calls on every Orthodox to visit temples, commune and confess as much as possible, show compassion and be a man towards others.
