Healer Panteleimon was born in Nicomedia and at birth was named Pantoleon. There was such a case when Pantoleon begged from Jesus Christ the life of a dead child bitten by a malicious one. When the child came to life, Pantoleon believed in Christ and was baptized, and when baptized he received the name Panteleimon, which means the All-Merciful.

Formation of faith

After cutting off the head from the wound, blood, not milk, flowed from the wound. The body thrown into the fire did not burn, the Christians then betrayed him to the earth. Since then, Panteleimon is considered the patron saint of doctors and patients.
