Pancreas medications: effective drugs

Pancreatic pathologies are very common today. These diseases are caused, as a rule, by the violation of the organ's activity, which, in turn, arises from different causes (inflammatory processes, for example). From the clinical picture, the general condition of the patient will depend on what medicine for the pancreas the doctor will write out. With diseases of this body, you do not have to take medication yourself. It is necessary to consult a specialist.

Choice of preparation

In the process of drug therapy of chronic pancreatitis, as a rule, a set of funds is prescribed. In this case, the actions of analgesics, antispasmodics and cholinopreparations are combined, H2-blockers and antacids, anti- enzyme and enzyme agents are also shown.

In inflammatory processes, such drugs as "No-shpa", "Papaverin", "Platyphylline", "Atropine" are usually prescribed. These pancreatic drugs are taken orally or in the form of subcutaneous injections (for acute pain, for example). Against the background of exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, the external secretory insufficiency of the organ is of particular importance. In this regard, recommended enzyme, H2-blockers and antacids.

Among the latter, mention should be made of such medications as "Fosfalugel", "Almagel" and other alkaline mixtures of liquid substance, H2-blockers are used to relieve severe pain syndrome, such as "Femotidine", "Ranitidine" and others.

Enzyme means

Patients prescribe some medicines for a long time. Therapy can not do without enzyme preparations. In particular, such agents as amylase, lipase, trypsin are recommended. These drugs are used to restore the pancreas. Their action is aimed at suppressing pancreatic secretion. As a rule, enzyme drugs are prescribed immediately after the removal of an acute attack accompanied by a pain syndrome. The effectiveness of these medications is manifested in the weakening of dyspepsia. This, in turn, is expressed in the stabilization of the mass and the cessation of diarrhea. As practice shows, the aggravation of the condition is removed after three to five weeks from the beginning of the use of funds. Complete elimination of acute pancreatitis is observed after six months or a year. Among the enzyme agents should be mentioned such drugs as "Pancreatin", "Pankurmen", "Pancitrat", "Festal", "Enzyme forte" and others. Among other things, bile is present in these medicines.

Antiferment medicines

In some forms of chronic pancreatitis complicated by pancreatic edema, drugs such as Gordoks and Kontrikal are prescribed. These medications are administered intravenously (drip). One of the side effects that these drugs have for the pancreas is an allergic reaction. The risk of its occurrence against the background of therapy is quite high. The probability of anaphylactic shock is great. In this regard, antifenzional medicines are prescribed with extreme caution.

Spasmolytics and analgesics

To eliminate the pain syndrome, analgesics are recommended. They include, in particular, such drugs as "Analgin", "Baralgin" and "Paracetamol." At the peak of the pathological condition, the patient is given intramuscular injections. And after decreasing the intensity of the pain syndrome, the patient is transferred to the oral intake of these drugs. If the pain is not removed, the doctor can prescribe narcotic analgesics. They not only have an analgesic effect, but also activate the effect of non-narcotic drugs. To this category of drugs include tranquilizers, antidepressants, antipsychotics. These funds, among other things, eliminate the anxious depressive state, which often accompanies the pathology of the pancreas. As experts note, the emergence of pain is associated with dysfunction of the sphincter of Oddi, dyskinetic disorders of the intestines, accompanied by spasms. To eliminate such conditions, appropriate medications are used in parallel ("No-shpa", for example). Spasmolytics affect the contraction of the muscles, regardless of the nature of their origin.

Antacid agents

If the pancreas disease is accompanied by exocrine insufficiency on the soil of pain and dyspeptic syndrome, then the therapy is used to suppress the secretion of stomach acid hydrochloric acid. This group of medicines is called antacids. Conventionally, these drugs for the pancreas are divided into two categories: absorbed and not absorbed.

The first group should include magnesium oxide, sodium hydrogen carbonate and others. The category of non-absorbable drugs includes such drugs for the pancreas as "Fosfalugel", "Gelusil", "Almagel" and others. These drugs reduce the activity of the acid during its adsorption and the slow neutralization reaction. Together with this, the number of destroyed enzymes in the stomach decreases. Antacid drugs for the treatment of the pancreas have an active neutralizing effect on hydrochloric acid. However, their influence is very short.

Is there a better medicine for the pancreas?

Specialists do not give an unambiguous answer to this question. The pathology of the organ presupposes in most cases complex therapy. As already mentioned above, the choice of medications will depend on the clinical picture. Nevertheless, taking enzymes as a replacement therapy for a long time is the most effective. However, as practice shows, it is not so often possible to achieve complete elimination of pathology. Usually, such drugs contribute to the normal functioning of the pancreas. Some medicines not only stabilize the secretion, but also prevent the occurrence of seizures, inflammations (such preparations include, for example, Enzyme Fort). However, it should be remembered that no medications for prophylaxis (for the pancreas) will not be useful if the diet is not respected. The correct diet in the treatment of pancreatitis and other pathologies of this body is of paramount importance.

Effective medications for the pancreas: "Creon"

This product has an enzymatic action, helps improve the digestion process. The active ingredient, present in the composition of this medicine for the treatment of the pancreas, - pacreatin - facilitates the digestion of fats, proteins, carbohydrates. This leads to their complete absorption. The medicine is in encapsulated form. Upon ingestion, an active release of hundreds of mini-microspheres begins. They mix with intestinal contents and normalize the distribution of enzymes. The release of active pancreatic enzymes of the drug occurs when the mini-microspheres reach the small intestine. Protease, amylase and lipase, which are part of pancreatin, exhibit an effect that leads to the disintegration of lipid, starch and fat molecules.

Indications for use

Medication "Creon" is recommended as a substitute therapy for the insufficiency of exocrine activity of the pancreas against the background of such conditions as:

- Pancreatitis in chronic course;

- Cancer of the pancreas;

- pancreatectomy;

- cystic fibrosis;

- ductal obstruction due to the appearance of neoplasms;

- decrease in enzyme-forming activity of the gastrointestinal tract in old age and other pathologies.

The dosage of the drug is determined by the doctor personally. It is recommended to take half or a third of a single dose inwards immediately before meals, the rest is taken with food.

Side effects and contraindications

The drug is not recommended for acute pancreatitis or exacerbation of its chronic form, hypersensitivity. As practice shows, the medicine is tolerated by patients very well. Among the rare side effects, there is abdominal pain, vomiting or nausea, a change in stool (diarrhea or constipation). In isolated cases, patients develop an allergic reaction. As a rule, it is associated with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
