Noise in the ears is the cause of a common disorder

Millions of people report that they periodically or constantly hear tinnitus, but there is no source of sounds. The cause of this ailment lies in various violations and in each individual case requires a different approach. And although there are some methods by which tinnitus can be eliminated, the cause of such a condition in other cases is unrecoverable and, perhaps, these feelings will always be tolerated by man.

Noise, hum, clicks and ringing can be strong or barely discernible, can cause constant irritation and insomnia, and can only occasionally appear.

Causes of noise in the ears

Doctors say that there are several most common factors causing such discomfort:

• Narrowing of the blood vessels in the brain, arteriosclerosis of the vessels, caused by the presence of sclerotic plaques obstructing the movement of blood. In these cases, the patient hears the turbulent movement of blood through the vessels. Such disorders can be diagnosed by the study of cerebral vessels. Often, patients suffering from hypertension, report a noise in the head.

• Inflammation in the hearing aid, in particular inflammation of the auditory nerve. Usually this disorder is caused by a chronic condition, such as tonsillitis. A person senses monotonous noises, sometimes ringing or squeaking. The examination is carried out using a technique called brain potentials.

• Inflammation in the tendon and joints located on the border of the neck and head.

• Susceptibility and sensitivity to auditory sensations, which can be caused by stress and nervous exhaustion of the body.

• The presence of foreign bodies in the ear canal.

• Anemia.

• Ménière's disease is a tumor inside the passage, this ailment is accompanied by dizziness and hearing loss.

• Periodically, there may be tinnitus, which is caused by drinking alcohol, taking medications (antibiotics, antimalarial drugs, antidepressants, drugs for treating cancer and aspirin in high doses) or the effect of caffeine.

• Sulfuric plugs.

• The effects of very loud sounds on the hearing aid.

• Abnormal bone growth in the middle ear area - otosclerosis.

• Hearing aid.

• Head injury.

• Brain tumor.

Feeling noise in the ears, the cause of which is still incomprehensible, you should consult a doctor.

Disturbing symptoms may include:

• Noise causes very severe inconvenience.

• The noise does not last long.

• Noise regularly returns.

Treatment should start with a diagnosis and seek help only from specialists. Only a doctor can determine what treatment is required for you - simple therapy with anti-inflammatory drugs or a complex operation.

Concomitant symptoms are such states:

• Dizziness.

• There is a discharge from one or both ears.

• Painful sensations in the ears are accompanied by noise.

• Headache.

How does the feeling of "noise in the ears" arise?

The reason is the malfunctioning of cells that perceive sound waves. These cells are part of the fine hairs, located in the ear canals.

If the hairs are damaged, the brain perceives electrical impulses from the vibrations of these cells as sounds.

Beware of complications

Noise in the ears is not harmless. There are cases that this phenomenon is caused by a very serious illness, affecting not only the deterioration of the quality of life of a person, but also life itself. In the case of timely treatment of such dangerous diseases as brain cancer or infection, you can do much to improve the condition of the patient.

Therefore, never disregard the alarm signals, one of which is tinnitus - it is important to establish the cause as early as possible.
