By issuing a decree on the creation of the museum, the emperor set the task of recreating the life and the situation in which his ancestors lived. FF Richter - an architect at the court, collecting materials on the available sources, was able to translate the idea of Tsar Alexander into life, and since 1857 the building was designated as a historical monument. Premises for a boyar family

Territories for living had a clear division. Above the basement level, where the men lived, there were additional rooms - a refectory, the largest and most spacious room. The whole family was here to eat. Here they received guests invited to the feast. On the same floor housed the boyar's office, a spacious room for older sons and a large library. Boyar children from 6-7 years of age were taught different sciences. They were taught arithmetic, geography and taught, using a protractor and compass, to draw maps. The compulsory subject was the study of foreign languages, which included Latin.

Women lived on the top floor, entirely made of wood. This room was called a theater.

The brightest and most spacious room - the light-chest - had windows on three sides, there were spinning wheels, embroidery frames, a loom and all sorts of materials for handicraft work. They sewed, spun, embroidered boyar daughters on a par with servants.

In this atmosphere, a calm and measured life flowed, where the welfare and harmony in the family were at the forefront.

Visiting the museum "Chamber of Boyars of the Romanovs" is an excursion, very popular not only among visitors. Here Muscovites bring their children to acquaint them with the history of Ancient Rus.
