Medication "Ambrobene" is a mucolytic agent. The drug has a secreto-motor bronchosecretolytic effect. The drug contributes to the normalization of impaired secretion of bronchi and lungs, reduces the viscosity of sputum, improves its rheological performance, facilitates and accelerates the departure. When taken orally, almost complete absorption from the digestive system is noted. Therapeutic effect begins in half an hour and lasts for six to twelve hours. The decay process takes place in the liver cells. About 90% of the medicine is excreted in the urine. The active ingredient is ambroxol hydrochloride.

The drug is indicated for bronchiectasis, pneumonia, bronchitis (acute and chronic), bronchial asthma, complicated by the formation of viscous sputum and difficulties in its withdrawal.

Tablets for patients from the age of twelve are assigned to 1 pc. Three times a day in the first two days, then the frequency of intake is reduced to two times a day or a dosage of up to 1/2 tab (frequency of 3 r / day). Children under 12 years of age are prescribed 0.5 tab. 2-3 r / day. The medicine is drunk after a meal. Means "Ambrobe" (capsules) the instruction recommends to patients from 12 years on 1 piece. everyday. A solution for inhalation and oral administration is dosed using a measuring cup. Inside the instruction "Ambrofena" recommends taking the drug at 4 ml 3 r / d in the first two to three days, after - 4 ml twice or 2 ml three times a day. Dosage for children under 2 years - 1 ml 2 r / d, up to 5 - in the same dosage 3 r / day, up to 12 years - two milliliters not more than 3 times / day. Inhalation is carried out using a special device.
Contraindications
Instruction "Ambroben" contains information that the medicine is not prescribed for ulcerative lesions in the organs of the digestive tract, hypersensitivity, during pregnancy. The agent in the suspended form is not recommended for patients with intolerance to fructose. Contraindications include the period of lactation. Capsules are not recommended for patients under 12 years. Therapy of children should be controlled by a doctor. Tablets are not prescribed to patients until six years of age. Caution during therapy is observed with impaired renal and hepatic activity. For children younger than two years, it is recommended to prescribe medication in a suspended form.
Side effects
During therapy, the development of general weakness, epigastric pain, vomiting, nausea is likely. In some patients, the drug can provoke allergic reactions in the form of rashes, burning, hives.
