Mouse for computer - the simplest characteristics

The first mouse for the computer appeared, like many other interesting inventions, thanks to military developments. Invented such a simple, but from this no less brilliant device, an American electrical engineer, who worked for many years at NASA, and later at Stanford University in his own laboratory. Douglas Engelbart is an inventor, owner of more than forty different awards for his ideas. A computer mouse is his creation, which is best known from all works. After the appearance of the monitor as a means of exchanging information between the computer and the user, the natural next step was the invention of a convenient manipulator, helping to point to objects displayed on the screen. So, in 1963 a small wooden box appeared, inside of which were two wheels. Each of them turned in its plane. Only in 1972 the computer mouse acquired a look similar to the modern one. This happened due to the company XEROX. It was this corporation that introduced the device as a component of the computer.

Modern mouse for computer

All existing mice can be divided into four types:

  1. Mechanical - the basis of such a device is a rubber ball. When he rolls on any surface, his motion starts two rollers. From them, in turn, information is transmitted to the sensors. Thanks to the latter, the cursor moves on the monitor. The disadvantages of such a device include: a rather often polluting ball, special requirements to the surface. It was for the second reason that a computer rug appeared. By itself, it can not be taken to cons - it can sometimes be a charming or cool gadget.
  2. Optical - there are two generations. The first includes devices that work by the principle of exchange between the rug and the mouse of the optical signal. It comes from sensors, thanks to them the same computer receives response signals and converts them into movements on the monitor. The progres of second generation products is that there is no need for computer mats. Signals sensors already transmit to the usual surface of the table.
  3. More modern and very common is a laser mouse for a computer. In this device, the LEDs have successfully replaced the laser. Thanks to it, the computer is much more accurate in recognizing the position of the mouse, it determines the movement. To the undoubted advantage can be attributed the possibility of using such a manipulator on almost any surface. Such a mouse for the computer does not require cleaning.
  4. Gyroscopic mice are not very popular yet. Such a computer mouse does not work on the surface of anything, but in the air. A biaxial gyroscopic sensor allows for such manipulations.

You should not bypass the fact that the mouse for a computer can be wired and wireless. The first, maybe not very mobile, but more speedy in work. The second requires replacement of the battery, but is not limited in the movement of the length of the wire.

Unusual computer mouse

These devices are interesting only in form, not in content or in the principle of action. Today you can buy very original models. Whether you are an avid car enthusiast, whether you want to keep a Gothic mouse in your hand , whether you are buying an unusual manipulator for a child - a modern computer mouse is capable of responding to the most refined and unpredictable user requirements.
