Why the Internet is slow

In today's article, we will discuss some of the reasons why the Internet is slow and what can be done to improve its speed. No doubt, few modern computer owners have found those days when the speed of access to the resources of the global network was tens of kilobits, and the modem for 56 "real" kilobits seemed fantastic. Now even access to 100 Mb is not surprising - equipment is being improved, and people's demands are increasing. As a result, an amazing situation arises when, having incredible capabilities, many computer users claim that their Internet is slow. All is explained quite simply: at the dawn of the Internet, all were content with 1-2 mp3 files downloaded in 10 hours. Now people want to see a high-quality film with a volume of tens of gigabytes, which almost completely eliminates the high speed. Hence one of the common reasons why people complain that the Internet is slow - the discrepancy between the speeds and the desired amounts of data. This is the very "human factor".

But if, for no apparent reason, the Internet began to work slowly, then it is necessary to try to remember after what actions the speed fell. Perhaps, some programs were installed, corrections were made to the operating system, the components were changed or even the system unit moved to a new location. Any little thing that seems insignificant, in theory, can lead to the fact that the user declares: "the Internet is slow". Take, for example, the installation of some harmless program. There is a possibility that this application is infected with a virus that connects the computer to the botnet. The result is that the Internet is slowly working, since in this case a significant part of the network resources is engaged in parasitic traffic. The solution is obvious: you should check the computer with the antivirus program.

Note that when the connection speed is initially low (less megabit), even the automatic update functions , which are used by some programs by default, can significantly slow down the work with the Global Network. Solution: you should disable the download of the update modules. For this, in the Windows system, you need to press the Win + R combination, type msconfig in the appeared line and go to the Startup tab. Here you need to disable all unnecessary. It is recommended to read on the web what program is responsible for that, but in any case, you need to put a ban on downloading all the lines in which there is the word "Update". No less harmful is the mechanism for auto-updating the system itself. To disable it, you need to call the "Computer" properties, proceed to "Administration - Services". Here in the list you need to find the "Update Center" and deactivate it.

The next "suspect" is the browser used. There are quite a lot of them, therefore, in a competitive environment, each developer seeks to add to the product some functions that others do not. Unfortunately, this good intention does not always have a positive effect on the speed of the Network. Solution: Try changing your browser.

In fact, there are a lot of reasons for slow work, so they can not be specified in one article.
