MAZ timber trucks: models, technical specifications

Minsk Automobile Plant is one of the well-deserved and oldest producers of transport for transportation of timber in the territory of the former Union. Cars are distinguished by reliability and high indicators of patency. In addition, the developers have released several modifications, each of which can perform complex work or a specific task. MAZ-509: the device

Based on the 500 series, MAZ-509 was built - a timber carrier, which differed from its predecessor by a number of parameters. His release began in the late sixties of the last century in several interpretations. At that time, the truck was considered one of the most modern cars in its class.

The power unit of this model was almost identical to the "500th" MAZ. In its role was the engine YMZ-236, which was equipped with six cylinders, located V-shaped and water cooling system. Transmission, installed on the timber trucks MAZ new release, significantly different from previous models. The car received a four-wheel drive, five-speed transmission, a standard bridge structure.

For transportation of wood with this tractor, two biaxial trailer-dissolution (GKB-9383 and TMZ-803M) were used, which were equipped with a special dragging mechanism. The MAZ timber trucks of this series were divided into three main modifications (509P, 509A, 509), the main differences between which were in the transmission junction, the exterior and some technical details.

New models

In the early 90s, Belarusian developers started up a more modern MAZ-6317 timber carrier, which was produced in two interpretations (a sortiment carrier and a trailer-pass). This approach allowed to unify the nodes and units for working with different types of forest.

Technical parameters of this model:

  • Type of power plant - diesel;
  • Drive formula - 6 * 6:
  • Engine power - 420 horsepower;
  • Gearbox - a mechanic with nine steps;
  • The maximum speed indicator is 80 kilometers per hour;
  • Carrying capacity (t) - 1,34 / 2,91 (depending on the modification);
  • Length / width / height (m) - 1.03 / 2.55 / 4.0 or 7.82 / 2.5 / 3.52.

The next model MAZ-6303 is a timber carrier, which is still produced. This gradimentovoz is additionally equipped with hydromanipulator and supports. Its technical indicators:

  • Motor - diesel;
  • Drive - 6 * 4;
  • Power rating - 400 horsepower;
  • Carrying capacity - 15.8 tons;
  • CAT - 9 steps, mechanics;
  • The maximum speed is 90 kilometers per hour;
  • Dimensions (m) - 6.6 / 2.5 / 3.7 (length / width / height).

This machine is widely used due to the availability of service centers and accessibility of parts practically throughout the entire former USSR.

Timber carrier with a manipulator: description

Logging MAZ with a hydraulic manipulator is a representative of special equipment used in logging and transporting wood. High performance and efficiency are ensured by the CMU (universal crane) with the possibility of grabbing the assortment. On the characteristics of trucks are not inferior to domestic and foreign counterparts.

Timber trucks MAZ series 6312A9 are used for transportation of assortment, boards and other wooden blanks and products. The truck is equipped with a diesel power unit YAMZ-65010 with a turbo-charger. The power of the engine is four hundred "horses", it has compliance with the standard "Euro-3". The wheel formula of the car is 4 * 6, which provides high throughput on a complex ground. With a maximum carrying capacity of 2.32 tons, the maximum speed of the car is 85 kilometers per hour. The weight of the car at full load is almost three and a half tons.

In addition, it is worth noting the variety of modifications of timber trucks, which makes it possible to optimally choose the technique for performing a particular operation.

MAZ log truck, whose price in the secondary market starts from one million two hundred thousand rubles (series 6303 with a manipulator), occupies one of the leading places in popularity in this class. The final cost depends on the condition of the car, its modification and the exhausted resource. A new model of timber transport from Belarusian manufacturers will cost an order of magnitude more, but still cheaper than similar foreign equipment.

Advantages and disadvantages

The merits of timber trucks from the Minsk Automobile Plant include the following:

  • Excellent indicator of patency of all modifications for transporting the forest;
  • The possibility of choosing the best option among a variety of models;
  • High quality indicators combined with an adequate price;
  • Unification of spare parts and assemblies;
  • A large range of used, but fully operational auto;
  • Constant improvement of production and introduction of modern technologies;
  • Availability of spare parts in excess and extended after-sales service throughout the country.

The disadvantages include the fact that the level of comfort and additional equipment is still incommensurable with foreign counterparts. However, an affordable price combined with reliability and ease of maintenance almost compensate this aspect.

The result

In the post-Soviet space, it is difficult to find a vehicle for transporting timber better than MAZ sortiment trucks. In work, you can find even the first modifications, which were created dozens of years ago, while they show excellent results. New models that are produced serially, have become much more economical, more productive and more functional.
