Masterpieces of literature: a summary and analysis. Gogol's "Nose"

In the legacy of the ingenious Ukrainian and Russian writer NV Gogol, there are many works worthy of attention of the demanding reader. A feature of his work is subtle humor and observation, a propensity for mysticism and simply incredible, fantastic stories. This is exactly the story "Nose" (Gogol), the analysis of which we will do below.

The plot of the story (briefly)

With the brief content of the story, it is necessary to begin its analysis. The "nose" of Gogol consists of three parts, in which it is told about incredible incidents in the life of a collegiate assessor Kovalev.

So, one day the city barber of Petersburg Ivan Yakovlevich finds a nose in a loaf of bread, which, as it later turns out, belongs to a very respected person. Barber tries to get rid of his find, which makes it very difficult. At this time, the collegiate assessor wakes up and discovers the loss. In shock and frustration, he goes out into the street, covering his face with a handkerchief. And suddenly he meets his part of the body, which is dressed in a uniform, drives around the city, prays in the cathedral and so on. On requests to return to its place, the nose does not respond.

The story of N. Gogol "The Nose" tells further that Kovalev is trying to find the loss. He goes to the police, wants to advertise in the newspaper, but he is refused because of the unusual nature of this case. Exhausted Kovalev goes home and reflects on who can stand behind such an evil joke. Deciding that this is the staff of the officer Subtotin - because he refused to marry her daughter, the assessor wrote her a letter of accusation. But the woman is at a loss.

The city quickly rife with rumors about an incredible incident. One policeman even catches his nose and brings it to the owner, but he can not put it in his place. The doctor also does not know how to get the organ to fall off. But after about two weeks Kovalev wakes up and finds his nose in his rightful place. The barber who came to do his usual job, no longer held onto this part of the body. On this story ends.

Characteristics and analysis. Gogol's "Nose"

If you look at the genre of the work, then "The Nose" - a fantastic story. It can be argued that the author tells us that a person fusses for no reason, lives in vain and does not see beyond his nose. He is overcome by daily worries, which are not worth a farthing. He calms down, groping for the usual situation.

What conclusion pushes a detailed analysis? Gogol's "nose" is a story about a man who has become too zealous, who does not care about people below the rank. Like a torn off snuff in a uniform, such a person does not understand the speeches addressed to him and continues to do his work, whatever it is.

The meaning of a fantastic story

Using a fantastic plot, original images and completely atypical "heroes", the great writer reflects on the authorities. He talks about the life of bureaucrats and their eternal worries brightly and topically. But should such people care about their nose? Do not they have to solve the real problems of the common people they are leading? This is a hidden mockery that draws attention to the big problem of modern society of Gogol. Such was the analysis. Gogol's "nose" is a work that is worth reading at leisure.
