Marine ranks and their classification

The well-being and confidence of each state is based on its army. It is the military, who are an indestructible symbol of strength and power, respected by all citizens without exception. In addition to infantry, paratroopers, tankmen and signalers, representing the land forces, there is also a navy. This military power protects the tranquility of citizens of their country from the water frontiers. In accordance with the charter, each military is given a rank. This also applies to sailors. True, they have a somewhat different gradation.

Marine ranks are divided into:

A) qualification and professional;

B) naval ones;

C) honorable.

The first category includes the ranks of sailors who go on a voyage on civilian vessels. These sea ranks were first applied in the 18th century. These include: boatswain, skipper and navigator. A person could receive one of them only after passing a special certification, approved by the Russian Admiralty. At the beginning of the 20th century, this system underwent total reform, as a result of which the sea ranks were replenished with another category - naval ranks, to which the captain and navigator began to relate. The merit of each of them was measured in four categories. More than once the reform affected the flotilla. To date, the naval ranks of the civil fleet include the following categories:

Boatmasters:

A) captains of long / short voyages;

B) long / short navigators;

C) Ship mechanics of three categories;

D) Ship electromechanics of three categories;

E) ship radio specialists of the first and second categories, as well as ship radiotelegraphists and operators.

Military

Naval ranks are appropriated to people who have entered or are called up for service in the navy. However, the initial rank depends on qualifications, special military training, and skills. A young man, called up for urgent service on a ship, receives the title of sailor. It corresponds to the rank of ordinary ground forces.

The senior sailor is commensurate with such a title as a corporal. The commanders of the branches in the land armies of the troops are similar to the sergeant of the first and second article. The ranks of the chief sergeant-major and the chief ship's foreman in the fleet correspond to such ranks on the "land", as the deputy commander of the platoon and the sergeant-major of the combat unit. The Ensign of the Army is not inferior to the midshipman on the ship. For this reason, the senior ensign should not be the first to give a military greeting to the senior midshipman, as their titles are equal. Similar is the graduation of lieutenants (from junior to senior). Then the differences begin. So, the captain-lieutenant in the fleet corresponds to the captain of the ground forces. Admiral of the fleet is the same general. The highest naval rank is the general-admiral - it is similar to the general-field marshal.

Marine ranks and shoulder straps are inseparable, however, like the ranks, the epaulettes of the military in the fleet are different from those of the ground forces: along with the stars, stripes are sewn on them.
