Laminate with or without chamfer - that's the question

When choosing a floor covering, many consumers are confronted with vague doubts as to which material is better to choose. If formerly the undisputed leader was parquet, now it is replaced by laminate. The fact is that the panels in the aesthetic sense are not inferior to natural wood, and their quality is high, but the price is two times less, which allows you to purchase this material for less well-off categories of citizens.

But the laminate is not so easy to choose as it seems at first glance. First, you need to determine the manufacturer, and secondly, find out which one should choose the load class, and then go on to design solutions. Manufacturers offer a choice of laminate with chamfer and without it. Many buyers do not know what it is and whether it is worth overpaying for it. Chamfer is slightly sloping edges of slabs, as an obligatory element it is used for coatings from natural massive boards, because it allows to prolong their operation when laying even on an uneven surface.

To buy a laminate with a bevel or without - this is something everyone must decide on their own. It must be understood that it primarily performs a decorative function, making the laminate panels more like natural wood. Whatever the quality laminate, but the joints are still noticeable, which immediately gives out a cheap floor in it, but the chamfer does not mask the cracks, but rather expose them parading, imitating expensive parquet. Deepening is very shallow, only 1 - 2 mm, but its function performs flawlessly.

Laminate with chamfer is of two types: two-sided and four-sided, it all depends on the number of bevelled sides. In the first case, the sides are chamfered in length, and in the second - along the perimeter. The grooves are made by indenting the plate during pressing, so at this point the strength of the panel does not decrease at all. In addition to the aesthetic side, it is worth emphasizing that this element protects against moisture penetration into the laminate. 33 class with a facet boldly can be equated to a parquet board, because such a coating is very beautiful, looks natural and extremely durable.

Many consumers refuse the recesses on the panel, because they believe that this will make cleaning more difficult, dust, mud, water will constantly accumulate in them. It is worth noting that this is a completely untrue statement, the laminate with chamfer is unassuming in care just like without it. The depressions are quite small, only a couple of millimeters, so there will not be anything in them.

With continued operation, the advantages of the chamfer will be more noticeable. When loading, the panels begin to crack, which will make their appearance slightly untidy. Laminate with chamfer does not have such problems, because its presence makes it possible to minimize the consequences. If viewed from a technological point of view, then laminate boards will not become worse and more vulnerable, be they with or without a facet, because its main purpose is still aesthetic.

What laminate to choose, everyone should decide on their own, because tastes and preferences are different for all people. It is worth noting that the bevel will make the interior of the room more rich and luxurious, besides with it you can visually enlarge the room. If you need to expand the room, then the laminate is laid across, and if you extend - in length.
