Ladoga Bridge: on the way to "Road of Life"

The Ladoga Bridge is an example of the rational use of both local conditions and the most acceptable building technologies. Built in the second half of the 70s of the last century, it became the embodiment of the then prevailing socialist minimalism and the economical allocation of resources.

Ladoga Bridge is located several dozen kilometers from St. Petersburg, in a very important strategic area. It is here that the Neva flows from Lake Ladoga, in addition, this structure is an important point on the highway from the Northern capital to Murmansk. The need for this bridge construction also follows from the fact that the famous fortress of Oreshek is located nearby, it is possible to get to it from the city only after having overcome this structure.

The Ladoga bridge was built in due time, proceeding from purely economic goals, therefore to search in it any artistic value it is not necessary. This is a powerful and reliable reinforced concrete structure, in which there are nine spans, one of them - a drawbar. The importance of this structure is due to the fact that there are simply no other similar objects to St. Petersburg.

Tourists visit the Ladoga Bridge most often due to the fact that in the immediate vicinity of it there is a museum-diorama, which tells of the heroic moments of the breakthrough of the Leningrad blockade. It is through this structure that you can get from the city to such famous memorial complexes as Nevsky Piglet, Marino, Sinyavin Heights, where you can get acquainted with the heroic pages of the seventy-year-old.

In the immediate vicinity of the place where the Ladoga Bridge is located, in the formidable 1940s, fierce battles were fought against the German fascist invaders. This is evidenced by the T-34 tank, which has been preserved since that time, as well as the exterior of the part of the structure made in the form of a powerful pillbox. There are also numerous plaques with the names of fallen soldiers and officers.

Today, this structure also plays an important role in the passage of transport vessels going from St. Petersburg to Lake Ladoga and back. In this regard, the schedule of the Ladoga Bridge distribution is very important, which is adopted at the beginning of the navigable season and which commanders of all boats should adhere to. Naturally, all these terms are coordinated with the work of the bridges of St. Petersburg.

At the same time, the Ladoga Bridge, whose wiring-2013 was carried out at 10 and 15 o'clock, respectively, can be divorced additionally to suit the owners of vehicles, but all such requirements must be communicated to its management in advance. The same applies to fishing vessels fishing in the Neva exit from Lake Ladoga.

The last reconstruction of this bridge was made almost ten years ago on the eve of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. At present, this structure is coping well with the load exerted on it by connecting the most important areas of the Leningrad Region.
