And many of us involuntarily crept doubt about the statements of scientists-meteorologists about global warming. Or maybe, on the contrary, there is a new ice age? The yard is already the third decade of March, and frosts and snowfalls in our region dominate not only at night, but even during the day.

"Indeed, the absolute minimum is narrowed precisely for March 25," says Svetlana Pasichnyk, a leading weather forecaster at the Ivano-Frankovsk air and weather station. - In fact, until now this day in the regional center was cold in 1963 - 11.8 in the frost, and warm, by the way, last year - 18.6% in heat. And yet I as a meteorologist-practitioner would not take into account the cold current March to refute the global trend towards warming the climate. After all, even in the territory of one of our region, the temperature indices were different: in the city of Dolina, 14o, Kolomyia, Yaremche, and in the Pozhyzhevskaya Valley -16o frost were recorded last night.

- Even in the highlands it was warmer than in Ivano-Frankivsk ... Not a paradox?

- Cold air is heavier than warm, and it is sunny in the daytime, with cloudless skies, accumulating above the earth's surface, is being damped on the plain even more than in places much higher above sea level where it spreads along mountain slopes. This phenomenon meteorologists call the effect of radiation cooling of the surface layer of air. Let only the readers not be frightened by this term, because about some increased natural level of radiation does not go.

- However, judging by the temperature in the regional centers shown on the weather websites, it was Ivano-Frankivsk yesterday morning that was the "pole of cold" throughout Ukraine. I wonder if the cold record for March is broken?

- The absolute minimum for the first month of spring is not blocked. On March 1, 1963, Ivanovo-Frankivsk weather forecasters recorded 26.2 volts, and on March 10, 1952, 25.7 frosts.

- How long will we still feel on our skin - both figuratively and literally - unusual even for the early spring stunt - a consequence of the most notorious Balkan cyclone?

- The cyclone shifted in the direction of Kiev (its "work" in the capital is seen from TV news releases), then gradually losing its power, he "left" for Kharkov, "got" already in the central regions of Russia. In Prykarpattya on Wednesday and Thursday one should expect precipitation in the form of snow and a certain increase in temperature, but it will still be frosty: at night - 10-5o, in the daytime - 5-0o. To replace the snowfall significant warming will come to the Carpathian Mountains from Friday: at night, the temperature will rise to +2 +7, and in the daytime it will be +7 +12 о.

Let's add that in clear weather the sun rises already high in spring, even at minus temperatures throughout the day, which is much longer, has time to melt the snow on the city sidewalks, especially under the feet of pedestrians. And in the evening, frost makes ice out of the water. Therefore, the last days of jokes were on the streets of Ivano-Frankivsk to its residents and guests because the municipal services of the city already seem to have exhausted the reserves of sand and salt mixture and the belief in their capabilities to overpower the ice rink on the sidewalks - they hope only for the spring sun. Only here and there the sidewalks were very sparsely sprinkled with sand. Such a situation, finally, on the streets of the entire regional center. Therefore, the doctor of the State Clinical Hospital No.1 Bohdan Rizanich, with whom we talked on the phone, warns that we all look under our feet, where we are going, and also up, because large icicles are threatened to fall off the roofs of some houses. Before this medical facility on Saturday, eight people turned up, who were injured as a result of falls on slippery sidewalks and in courtyards of houses, and seven in a week.
