It's one thing when a person in his greed seeks to gather more material wealth around him, never helps his relatives, thinks about his savings. It's another matter, when he increases his fortune with a master's hand, rationally treats spending, not allowing unnecessary things.

What is greed?

Greed is the desire to get as much as possible, giving as little as possible. The greedy person is not interested in anything other than his savings. He does not care about the health of his loved ones, their problems. He is not pleased with travel, recreation and entertainment. Such people are deaf to the sufferings and problems of others. Because they only deal with themselves, with their accumulations.

There is another kind of greed - it's rational economy, when a person clearly defines the boundary of necessary and unnecessary things, he knows how much he can spend on himself, his family, how much should be put aside for rest or treatment. Such a person knows how to earn and spend, not allowing himself excess. As a rule, he is responsive to the pressing problems of relatives and friends.

Manifestations of greed

The problem of greed Emerged in ancient times, when the primitive man lacked food, tools. The presence of these resources in others caused envy, a desire to have them. Much later, when money and precious metals appeared, the greed of the person concentrated on them.

Greed and stinginess gradually fill the mind. A pathologically greedy person saves everything at the expense of health and comfort. The accumulation of old, unnecessary things prevails in the house.

The root of greed lies in the lack of something. Man begins to search for harmony, happiness through the acquisition of material values. These can be precious stones or works of art, money or food. A person fills a sense of deprivation, a lack of what is involved in accumulation.

The nature of greed

Fear and insecurity. Lack of power and money in adulthood, as well as a lack of love and attention in childhood, can gradually lead to the desire to fill the deficit of a resource. So The problem of greed begins to develop, fueled by envy.

Replacement of attention. Small children are born with the need for love. The death of parents or lack of attention on their part can lead to greed. First, love is replaced with toys and sweets, then compensated by material goods.

Wrong ideas about life. The lack of warmth and attention leads to the realization that there are certain limitations. That there is not enough toys or love, food or friendship. Therefore, it is necessary to have time to take the first thing that others may not get. So there is a desire to acquire a large amount of something at the expense of quality.

Children's greed

Parenting is a very delicate thing. Most of the problems are rooted in childhood. The greed of an adult can result in a lack of warmth, love in childhood. Ironically, excessive generosity has the same end result.

Children's greed is Inability and reluctance to share. The child sees toys as a part of himself, so he protects his property, personal things. This psychological feature begins to appear from 2 years. After a while (from six months to a year), the child ceases to identify himself with his toys. The problem of overcoming child greed is solved by the implementation of simple rules:

  • Teach the child to share their toys or change them with other children;
  • Do not take away his trinkets by force, do not force, do not use physical punishment;
  • Praise the baby for the slightest desire to share;
  • Explain that his toy will then be returned;
  • Do not scold the child if he refuses to share. So there may be aggression towards other children.

Male greed

Male greed is the desire to keep everything under control. Distribution of the budget, economy is the necessary care for the family. It is important to feel the line when thrift becomes true greed.

Male greed is a reluctance to spend money on education, rest, health, quality food, hygiene. This is a petty counting of every saved moneymark.

A miserly man is engaged in ordinary accumulation, an egoist - will spend the money saved for himself, his pleasures. The reason for greed may be in a woman. If a man is not sure about her, in their relationship, he can decide not to spend his money on it.

Women's greed

The greed of a woman in most cases is the result of complexes. This is the lack of confidence in its attractiveness due to lack of money for clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, lack of love and attention, when human values are replaced by material values and comfort.

At the same time, the woman seeks family well-being. The main thing is to stop in time and understand that strength is in love. Material wealth is designed to make life calm and comfortable. They are not an end in themselves, but a means.
