Irena Lesnevskaya: biography; Career at REN-TV

Irena Lesnevskaya is a woman who was one of the first to join the Academy of Russian Television. It was she who became the founder of the cult-known channel REN-TV. She also produces the periodical The New Times, is not afraid to openly comment on the political and social situation, is known in the circles of journalists as a fairly principled and tough person.

Irena Lesnevskaya, whose biography is presented in the article, has learned to uphold her point of view to the last and remain true to her views. Paradoxically, being a person directly related to television, this woman does not consider herself a public person and does not like to give interviews.

Irena Lesnevskaya: Biography

The future creator of one of the most popular Russian television channels was born in May 1942. Irena Lesnevskaya, whose nationality interests her fans, was born in Kazakhstan (at that time it was still the Kazakh SSR), in the small village of Urlyutyup, which belonged to the Pavlodar region. It so happened that it was to this village that Father Irena was sent into exile in the infamous 58-th article in Soviet times.

After the end of the war in 1945, Irene, who at that time was three years old, returned with her mother and brother to Moscow, and Stefan Lesnevsky remained in Urlyutup to serve his sentence. Rehabilitated him only in 1956, but from Kazakhstan he never returned. Stefan created a new family there, marrying a German from the Volga region, who, like him, was in exile.

Having changed the place of residence, already in the capital, Irena Lesnevskaya went to a regular general school. Her older brother, Stanislav, was a literary critic, and he managed to instill interest and love for literature to his younger sister at school age.

A youthful dream of becoming a doctor

In one of her relatively recent interviews with Irena Lesnevskaya told that despite her sincere interest in literature, in her youth she dreamed of becoming a doctor. At that time, in order to be able to enter the medical institute, the applicant had to have at least 2 years of experience in the medical field. For this reason, Irena Lesnevskaya, whose photo is presented in our article, having reached the age of sixteen, changed the regular school to an evening school and started working in the hospital as a laboratory assistant.

Irene practically worked out the necessary length of service, but she did not go to medicine. And the reason for this was an incident: the older students who had already been practicing at the hospital where Irena worked, once hinted to the girl that for the year and a half that she works, she should have been present at least once in the pathoanatomy at the time of the autopsy. Lesnevskaya listened to them, went and after that she firmly decided that she would not have anything in common with medicine.

Education received

Thanks to his elder brother, Irena Lesnevskaya in her youth had the opportunity to constantly rotate in the circles of outstanding and creative people. After an unsuccessful attempt to come into medicine, the girl caught fire with a strong desire to become an actress. After graduating from the evening school, she entered the VGIK, but directed at the faculty. Irena studied there for a relatively short time and, leaving the institute, she continued to dream about the career of a great artist.

Finding Yourself

Life has developed so that the girl began to work in a literary newspaper. She became a member of the "Music" studio, joining the creative youth of that time. Irena Lesnevskaya understood that she absolutely needed higher education, and for this reason she decided to enter Moscow State University. After graduation, she received a diploma in journalism. For the first time on television I got in 1966 and immediately realized that I finally found the main cause of my life.

Career on TV

Having come to the State Television and Radio of the USSR for Central Television in 1966, she worked for a long time as an assistant director in the children's editorial office. After a while, she became editor. During the first 7 years of work in Ostankino, Lesnevskaya did not have any impressive career growth. She held one position, but at the same time she was allowed to make author's programs, which even received numerous diplomas and awards. Everything changed after Brezhnev's death - Irene was finally promoted. She became the author of many programs, which were mainly devoted to literature and art.

In the 80s, Irena Stefanovna worked on a very popular "Kinopanorama" program in the Soviet Union and was actively involved in other equally interesting projects.

Everything dramatically changed during the 1991 coup d'état. Then Lesnevskaya realized that we need to take the situation into our own hands. Together with the person closest to her-the son of Dmitry, she established and became president of the independent production company REN-TV. A few years later, in 1997, the son together with his mother created a television channel under the same name - REN-TV.

For many years, being the main on this channel, Lesnevskaya was really his heart. All that went on the air of REN-TV, reflected her understanding of the general information and entertainment channel.

More recently, the circumstances around Irena have developed in such a way that, under constant pressure, she was forced to sell all the shares of her own TV channel. But Lesnevskaya did not become desperate, taking advantage of the situation for the first time in many years, she began to spend her free time with benefit for herself.
