Interval in the "Word": what it is and where its settings

In this article, we'll talk about the interval in the "Word". Tell you what it is, where to find it and how to change it. After reading the article until the end, you can easily carry out any manipulations in the future on changing both the line spacing and between paragraphs. All actions will be described in detail, so even an inexperienced user should not have unnecessary questions.

Problem with paragraphs

Before talking about the interval in the "Word", it is worth mentioning such a ridiculous accident as extra paragraphs. The fact is that the interval is most often changed in order to give the text document the proper form. And most often it is reduced. But not always in large spaces between paragraphs, this option is to blame in the "Word".

Inappropriate intervals between two paragraphs can appear due to the fact that the user accidentally or ignorantly puts two paragraphs instead of one. The solution to this problem is simple - in removing unnecessary paragraphs. However, this process can be quite difficult, because the paragraphs are an invisible part of the text. But even from this situation you can go out beautifully.

In the "Word" program, unprintable characters can be visualized. This is done by clicking the appropriate button on the toolbar. Its location and view can be seen in the image below.

Pressing this button, you will see all the unprintable characters in the text, the paragraph looks like this: "¶". All you have to do is remove the extra paragraphs.

Universal way

As you might guess, double paragraphs are a rarity. Most often, "the originator of the triumph" is still an incorrect interval between the lines in the "Word". Now we will analyze the first way how it can be changed. This method is universal, in other words, it is suitable for any version of the program.

So, in order to get into the settings of the interval parameters, you need to initially open the program "Word". It is recommended that you create a new document so that you can set the default parameters so that in the future they do not change them in a new way each time.

The next step will be finding the desired column "Style". And it is located in the tab "Home" in the very right side. In it, click the arrow in the lower right corner to open the menu, in which you need to select the third button at the bottom of the account - the settings window opens, in which you will go to the "Default" tab. In it, find the "Interval" area. In it, you can insert the values you need. There are no tips, because everyone has their own preferences. The main thing - as soon as you finish the setting, tick the "In the new documents that use this template." After that, you can safely press "OK" - the interval in the "Word" will be changed.

Method for the latest versions

The second way, how to make an interval in the "Vord" larger or smaller, almost does not differ from the first. You will only need to enter other settings. And they themselves are no different from the previous ones. So, now we'll look at where you need to look for these settings.

Create a new "Word" document and note now the "Paragraph" column on the toolbar. There also click the arrow in the lower right corner - a window will appear with the required settings.

Specify the desired interval, but do not rush to press the "OK" button. Click "Default". You will see a window with a choice - choose "All documents based on the Normal template". This is necessary so that when creating a new document, the interval in the "Word" remains your default.

Change in two clicks

Now let's talk about the simplest method. Its downside is only one thing: with this method, you can not specify a default interval, it is specified only in the selected area.

All you need to do is find the button of the same name on the toolbar. By the way, you can see it in the image below.

Click on it and in the drop-down list select the value you need. This is the third way.
