Infrared camera - the materials are in order

Depending on the length of the wave, the spectrum of solar radiation can be divided into seven radiation segments- X- rays , gamma rays, visible light, radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, and visible light. The human eye can perceive only "visible radiation." At us it is accepted to name light. His unusually bright example is a rainbow, where a very ordinary white color is decomposed into certain segments. It's an infrared camera.

Infrared radiation was discovered at the very beginning of the 19th century. It represents Electromagnetic radiation occupying the spectral range, lying in the boundary between red light, which we can see and short-wave radiation. Today, an infrared camera is being made by hand. Infrared radiation can be divided into three ranges:

  • Long-wave.
  • Medium-wave.
  • Shortwave.

Artificial sources of such waves can serve as incandescent lamps, ceramic or metal plates, gas burners, spirals, etc. Currently, the infrared camera is widely used in various areas of our Everyday life. This is cosmetology, and electronics, and medicine, and the food industry. On the basis of infrared radiation, many third-party devices are being implemented - currency detectors, remote controls, heaters and floodlights.

The perspective and actual direction of application of thermal energy of these waves is drying and sterilization of all kinds of products and materials. Infrared drying chamber helps to dry and disinfect paints and food products. In the industry, basically, three drying methods are used:

  • Thermoradiation method (infrared radiation is used).
  • Convective method (using hot air).
  • Combined.

Infrared camera helps in working with any type of enamels and paints, including water-soluble and acrylic. In the process of such drying, the paint materials pass from the liquid to the solid state, chemists call it curing. During drying in a convective chamber, the top layer of the coating first dries and heats up, subsequently preventing the solvent from leaving.

In order to competently choose a device for drying infrared, it is necessary to pay attention to a number of factors that can affect the process. First of all, this is the maximum possible heating, which an infrared camera can tolerate. In addition, the maximum heating of the substrate of a material, the power that the source of energy has, and the mass and size of the product to be dried.

In addition, do not forget that the drying time directly depends on the color, which has paint and its composition. This is due to the fact that the reflectivity of different materials may differ. Light colors of the rays do not absorb and reflect only a part of them, which is why their drying will take a little longer. At the same time, metallic paints can enhance this effect. They contain particles of aluminum, reflecting rays like a mirror. Dark paints dry much faster.
